Just found out we are expecting no2. It is way early but we have no girls names that we both agree on.

So ladies, any ideas on girls names that would go/ sound nice with DD1 Louisa x

Having the exact same problem! Our daughter is louisa catherine, really struggling to find another girl's name that we like even half as much. best one so far is isabella, but can't think of a pretty shortening for it (don't like izzy)

Other names we liked but don't go with our surname are

Marianne
Eva / Evelyn
Elena / Eleanor
Amber

Good luck!

Ok we are thinking about the name Lauren to go with our DD1 Louisa. What do you think? Is it too much of a mouth full?

I'd suggest Miriam or Harriet with Louisa but may be biased as I have a Miriam and a Harriet.

Mylittlebubble · 24/04/2010 07:25

No keen on Miriam and our friends little girl is called Harriet although I really like this name.

Louisa is a lovely name

I like a lot of the names suggested by other posters esp Eleanor, Harriet, Imogen, Charlotte, Katherine, Anna/Hannah, Sophia, Julia.

Other ones I can think of:

Annelise
Madeline
Clara
Iris
Rebecca
Francesca
Thea
Emilia
Victoria

I think Louisa & Lauren is too much.

I know sisters Louisa & Holly.

Charlotte and Isabel go very well but they are so popular.

However my favourite is Katherine. It is lovely with so many good nn. Kate/Kitty esp.

Louisa and...
Clara
Juliet
Caroline
Annabel
Emily/Amelie
Florence
Alice
Frances
Josephine
Camille

Hello!! I have a Louisa Katharine (dd2). Dd1 is called Laura Elizabeth. Having two L names is a tad confusing because their nicknames are Lol and Lulu, and I get them mixed up sometimes.

So names to go with Louisa :-

Laura :-)
Helena (Nel for nn)
Charlotte (Coco for nn)
Sophia
Victoria (Kiki for nn)
Elizabeth
Georgina
Emily

My DD2 was almost Kirsty Louisa - in the end she became Kirsty Louise

Rockbird · 28/04/2010 15:07

Liesl, Brigitte, Marta, Gretl?

laughinglil · 28/04/2010 19:53

My name is Louisa and my sisters are Lauren and Rebecca.
I don't think Louisa is anywhere near the same as Lauren.
The only thing that did annoy us growing up was the fact that I we had the same initials so we were constantly opening each others letters, pretty minor thing really.
This is a strange thread though because if Lauren wasn't Lauren she was going to be Catherine.
I personally like Lauren and Louisa but then I am bias .Lol.

Wolfblass · 28/04/2010 19:56

Louisa and Ruby
Louisa and Charlotte
Louisa and Hannah
Louisa and Annabel
Louisa and Heather
Louisa and Emily
Louisa and Imogen

imahappycamper · 28/04/2010 22:34

We know sisters called Charlotte, Natalie and Louisa.

I'm a Louisa and my middle name's Clare (but, then, I was born in 1973, which kind of explains it). Always thought it was a little plain, but then there were so many when I was growing up - you don't get so many Clare/Claires these days.
