What do you think of Huntlley as a boy's name? It's listed on Mumsnet's Baby Name Finder.
I think this is a real nice name

Trouble is that it conjures up images of Ian Huntley for me.

How about Hunter? I think Gillian Anderson (X-files) called her son Hunter.

MadreInglese · 25/02/2010 13:54

As in Ian Huntley?

pixiestix · 25/02/2010 13:55

Does it really have two L's?

SPBInDisguise · 25/02/2010 13:55

I think Ian, sorry.
Like Hunter though

MrsBadger · 25/02/2010 13:55

remember that the mn baby name thing is primarily a pisstake

it's awful, esp with two Ls

MmeLindt · 25/02/2010 13:56

With two Ls? Horrible.

Huntly is bad enough, but Huntlley is just awful, sorry.

galletti · 25/02/2010 13:57

I'm sorry, but Ian Huntley immediately came to mind - in fact on reading the title quickly, I thought it was a thread about him.

cravingcroissants · 25/02/2010 14:01

Horrid.

Makes me think of Ian Huntley too.

YoginiBikini · 25/02/2010 14:02

Ian here too

LadyBiscuit · 25/02/2010 14:03

Vile

GladioliBuckets · 25/02/2010 14:04

There is also the matter of the obvious choice for a rhyming nickname.

Megletwantsittobesummer · 25/02/2010 14:05

No.

RoseWater · 25/02/2010 14:05

Sorry, no, no and thrice no

weegiemum · 25/02/2010 14:06

Huntley is a place, in Aberdeenshire. That's what it makes me think of.

MrsPixie · 25/02/2010 14:06

ian huntley first thought

nulgirl · 25/02/2010 14:06

Makes you look like you're a bit thick and can't spell Huntley which in turn reminds everyone of Ian Huntley. Not a good name

harimosmummy · 25/02/2010 14:07

Sorry, another no here.

Wrong (and very very horrible) associations.

Phoenix · 25/02/2010 14:10

No sorry. I also immediately thought of Ian Huntley

seeker · 25/02/2010 14:12

Not much funbeing called hHunter if you turn out to be a slight bespectacled vegetarian!

VinoEsmeralda · 25/02/2010 14:14

No Ian springs to mind pl dont do this to a child

ChickensHaveSinisterMotives · 25/02/2010 14:15

Instantly think of Ian Huntley. Don't do it.

Kneazle · 25/02/2010 14:19

hideous

AllieW · 25/02/2010 14:27

Another one who immediately thought of Ian Huntley. Not keen on surname-esque names as it is, so the two factors combined make me dislike it rather a lot I'm afraid.

AllieW · 25/02/2010 14:28

Equally, bear in mind that the double l will instantly make it pronounced differently in Wales.

Scotia · 25/02/2010 14:45

It's on the Baby Name Finder because you added it. I don't like the spelling of it tbh but that's just my opinion
