Otis?

Bruno
Linus
Evander
Claude
Axel
Rufus

LOVE Iggy - so original!

jerseyshore · 13/01/2010 08:21

aw thanks mama. he really suits it.

we wanna stay away from names of rock stars for this one so it doesn't become a 'theme' so Otis, Rufus and Axel are out.

We love Linus or Linas (DP is half Lithuanian so Linas would be the Lith spelling) but even though I love it I'm not sure I can get passed the little boy with the blankie fetish from Peanuts... it's a favourite for now.

I'm a child of the 80s so for me Bruno is always goona be Bruno Brookes. Love Claude and Evander but DP thinks they're too "posh".

Jeez we're fussy...

I love Linus too. Linus in Peanuts isn't a bad association IMO.

Axel great too.
David? Zowie? )
My ds is Sky/Skyler (from Schuyler) - not sure if that suits?
Friend has baby boy Asa which I love too.
Also love Leon and Felix.

Arlo
Asa
Colby
Morton
Otis
Ripley

Whoops just seen youve ruled out Otis!

jerseyshore · 13/01/2010 10:23

sorry for ignorance but how do you pronounce Asa?

Love Arlo but it's almost an anagram of surname so note sure. Colby - I just think of Dynasty, Morton - Harket see I told you I was a child of the 80s!

Any more?

NewnameSameoldme · 13/01/2010 10:26

Pop

sorry. couldn't resist it

MamaLazarou · 13/01/2010 10:27

You HAVE to be fussy, jerseyshore - you're naming a person for life!

MaggieMnaSneachta · 13/01/2010 10:29

Howie
Jago
Bruno
Vinnie
Arnaud (instead of Arlo, Arlo a bit girly imo). Arnaud a real name.

FlightAttendant · 13/01/2010 10:30

For once I am stumped

itstwins · 13/01/2010 10:42

Wow, never ever met an Iggy or heard of an Iggy (other than Pop) before!

Iggy & Wilf

Iggy & Digby (mabe a bit much?)

Iggy & Barney

Iggy & Arlo

Iggy & Ike

Iggy & Jett

Iggy & Dashiell

Iggy & Ludo

Wow that was difficult! You really cannot have an Iggy and a Jack can you!

I like the suggestion of Morton

Iggy

jerseyshore · 13/01/2010 10:53

Wow thanks everyone. SO helpful. Lots to think about.

Was falling for Asa there but DP has vetoed - reminds him of a nasty bully from his estate growing up. I may work on him though, I think it's lurverly.

Love Dashiell (in fact Iggy's choice is Dash - he's obsessed with The Incredibles) but a friend called Dash died last year so would feel weird.

Ike - too many violent/wifebeater associations for me even though I love it purely as a name.

Love Vincent/Vinnie

We're really liking Otto - it shares a nice aural symmetry with Iggy (like Asa) - but I know for a lot of people it's still too Nazi...
