Vita is nice. I really lovely Vida. How about Iggy and Fran?

Is Iggy short for Ignatius?

MrsJamin · 13/01/2010 13:34

Levi

SqueezyB · 13/01/2010 13:48

Is Iggy short for Ignatius? If so how about another biblical name - eg Nathaniel, Ezekiel (shortened to Zeke), Ezra, Jacob...

EvilHRLady · 13/01/2010 14:20

Newname - had to , great minds think alike, but you beat me to it...

DH not much better - he suggested Wiggy or Woo...

Name him after one of my uncles;

Ged
Frank
Tommy
Vinny

No it's just Iggy not Ignatius - we're not religious. Although we were considering Amos for a while because it was my sister's nickname and I think it sounds quite nice with Iggy but not sure if it's a bit too heavy Old Testament.

Libby, I know! We've had Vita Seabright lined up since Iggy was still a moonbeam and it's awful because it's making me REALLY hope I'm having a girl, even though in every other consideration I have no preference and 'preferring the girl's name' seem like the most superficial reason in the world!

at the Wiggys and Ziggys. Since Iggy was born we've had quite a few people responding "ooh like Ziggy Stardust?" um....

Some great suggestions though. thanks everyone.

I mean they say "ooh like Iggy Stardust". It would make a little more sense if they said "like Ziggy Stardust"

bah anyway... yes, thanks all

Iggy & Vita (fingers crossed) perfect!

But, if a boy....

Iggy & Spike - has to be!

let us know what you decide!

jerseyshore · 13/01/2010 15:42

smother - oh how i LOVE Spike... BUT tragically with our surname it becomes the most porno name ever. Woody and Rudy out for same reason...

Our surname isn't Giantthrobbingcock or anything and with most first names it just sounds like a nice (albeit quite unusual) name but trust me, it becomes radically sexual with Spike. ;)

What about Monty?

Iggy and Monty...

(There was a Montague Ignatius in the times BAs today and I thought of OP!)

MaggieMnaSneachta · 13/01/2010 18:25

boodleboot · 13/01/2010 21:12

I had Asa as my number one boys name from the age of 15!!!
Sadly my DH like yours vetoed it - i kept on working on him through both pregnancies but couldn't get him to budge.

shoobidoo · 14/01/2010 10:33

Iggy and Quinn sound fab imo.

BitOfFun · 14/01/2010 10:40

My fictitious baby boy is called Iggy , but it would be short for Ignatius, after my Catholic grandfather's middle name. His fictitious younger brother would be Con, short for Cornelius, or possibly Fran for Francis. I will let you borrow those suggestions, as I am magnaminous like that

motherlovebone · 14/01/2010 14:38

talking of magmanimous, how about Magnus.
Iggy and Mag.

didnt think my Jonny suggestion incongruous, thought the names complemented each other.

Jon in its simplicity and Iggy in its Igginess
also, with a name like Iggy, trying to equal it, it would be easy to end up going OTT.

jerseyshore · 14/01/2010 14:49

hahaha no not Hardon! Spike Hardon !!!
Motherlovebone the prob with John is that it's DP's name and one of my personal horrors is the father/son same name thing.
Jonas, however, is on the shortlist...
Really like Gus but not loving it with my surname and a pregnant close friend has it as her number 1 for boys.
