I really like these names but for boys rather than girls. Would it be so wrong to use these for boys?

Yes - wrong.

yama · 10/01/2010 22:06

I take it you are joking.

jkklpu · 10/01/2010 22:06

TROLL - or you're pissed
utterly ludicrous
do you also like Miles, Oscar and Donald for girls?

FimBOW · 10/01/2010 22:07

You forgot Tracy, that too can be used for a boy.

Not that I would personally use any of them.

brimfull · 10/01/2010 22:08

YES very wrong

JaynieB · 10/01/2010 22:08

I knew a boy called Stacey at school although I'm wondering if he really was a girl and I've just mis-remembered...

Ronaldinhio · 10/01/2010 22:08

What about Shirley?

That was Big Daddy's name

brimfull · 10/01/2010 22:12

I used to know a man named Allison

Monty100 · 10/01/2010 22:12
Biscuit
JeMenFous · 10/01/2010 22:14

Lesley/Leslie is equally attractive or just go the whole hog and have a boy named Sue

seeker · 10/01/2010 22:15

I think Bernard is nice for a girl.

Chuffinnora · 10/01/2010 22:16

I know a man called Beverley and another called Tracy.
Not sure whether it is good idea though.

ironlikealion · 10/01/2010 22:17

Nursey!!

Sorry OP - I think they might all actually have originally been surnames, then boy's names, then girl's names, anyway. Like Ashley or Lesley or Shirley, as has been said. But I don't think you can use them for boys now, as that's not what people will think of. Don't like them much for girls either to tell the truth.

jemart · 10/01/2010 22:23

Kim would be just about acceptable.
DH would probably shoot it down though.

thisisyesterday · 10/01/2010 22:26

i know a guy called Stacey and he is very, very cool!

sowhatitsonlysnow · 10/01/2010 22:27

You are joking aren't you!

NotAnOtter · 10/01/2010 22:29

Margarine for a girl?

mommymeggie · 10/01/2010 22:58

I know a few guys named Kelly. That to me seems pretty normal. I also know a guy named Shannon and another Tracy.

But please take in consideration that these boys have to grow up with these names! Please at least pick a boyish name for his middle so if he is extremely embarrassed, he has another name to fall back on

SnowMuchToBits · 10/01/2010 23:03

Courtney possibly (think Courtney Pine) but not the others

glasgal · 10/01/2010 23:58

I have an antiquarian baby name book which lists Oscar as a girls only name - honest!

Boys/girls names change over time but it'd be cruel to give a DS a name they'd most certainly get teased for.

mathanxiety · 11/01/2010 01:12

Why would you inflict a name like that on anyone, boy or girl?

GoddessInTheKitchen · 11/01/2010 01:17

i know a boy called courtly maybe slightly more boyish? please don't call your son kimberlee or stacey! omg! (are you in the us?)

skihorse · 11/01/2010 06:06

I knew a man called Stacey who was an utter twat - but he had a Ferrari so did well with the ladies.

Also knew a chap called Kim whose opening gambit was "My name is Kim but you can call me Sue". I suppose he knew he had to take it on the chin!
