DH really likes it, I think I like it?

Reminds me of Kurt Cobain.... don't know if that's a good thing or not?

What do you think?

what about curtis?

thisisyesterday · 03/12/2009 18:52

it's very cool. I always said i'd call my son Kurt, but didn't in the end.
Kurt Cobain is a good thing in my book!

nannynobnobs · 03/12/2009 18:59

It is a good name It's long enough after Kurt Cobain's death for it to just look like a nice choice of name rather than a bandwagon thing.

islandofsodor · 03/12/2009 19:01

High on a hill was a lonely goatherd.....

Kurt makes me think of the Sound of Music.

GossipMonger · 03/12/2009 19:02

Too harsh for my liking and for some reason am not keen on the letter 'k'.

No idea why.

I do prefer Curtis.

Ondine · 03/12/2009 19:15

Have to admit I've never seen the Sound of Music - was Kurt an awful character?

I'm not keen on Curtis - it sounds too American to me for some reason. Also it's 50 cent's name and I'm not a fan!

I know what you mean about it sounding harsh. I think that's why i'm undecided but I like how it's at the other end of the spectrum to the grandpapa trend.

islandofsodor · 03/12/2009 20:32

Kurt was one of the children

nevergoogledragonbutter · 03/12/2009 20:36

reminds me of kurt russell not kurt cobain.

a bit 80s.

LynetteScavo · 03/12/2009 20:41

Kurt would be Warren's brother.

Ondine · 03/12/2009 20:44

You see I was thinking Kurt would be Magnus and Freya's brother

nevergoogledragonbutter · 03/12/2009 20:46

No, Magnus and Freya's brother would be Thortsen.

jemart · 03/12/2009 20:48

I think it sounds German for short.

I quite like Kurt.
I really like your mnname btw

nulgirl · 03/12/2009 20:50

Kurt to me sounds too teutonic and makes me think of ledehosen. Probably because I associate it with the sound of music. Am sure that not many people under the age of 30 will be fans of a musical about nuns and nazis so it probably won't matter

AnalysisParalysis · 03/12/2009 20:51

Why not Magnus?

upahill · 03/12/2009 20:51

My friend was called Kurt.
I loved Kurt Cobain.

I love the name.

I don't like Curtis though

hormonesnomore · 03/12/2009 20:55

Kurtis Rush

upahill · 03/12/2009 20:58

It's just occured to me the only two Kurts I know are dead. Both young and tragic.
I feel sad now.

Ondine · 03/12/2009 21:01

Thanks AnalysisParalysis - I would suit your name better I think!

Magnus..... I bit square or something. Nice though.

Kurt (to me) is a bit urban chic in the Astrid and Kit mode. Tis Über masculine though!?

Sorry upahill.

Does it need to be Teutonic? What about Arlo? Or Kester?

Ignore the naysayers and their 'too harsh' comments... has been said about both my DC's names

NotanOtter · 03/12/2009 21:09

Kurt is good although i am with the poster who is a bit offish about the letter K!

I always skip it when naming my own babies - I always skipped N too and then did one so !

Kurt Cobain - great namesake

thisisyesterday · 03/12/2009 21:21

that's bizarre because i know a brother and sister called magnus and freja!

tstar · 04/12/2009 06:39

I love The Letter K ,Kurt, Why Not??? It's a good name for a little boy and a man.
