We're having a baby boy! Which means, due to hubby's family tradition his middle name has to be "Alan".
surname is 3 sylables starting with Mc.... Anyone got any suggestions of first name to go with this??
Hubby and i love finlay but is only one can agree on and would like some other options!

Christopher, shortened to Christy (are you an Irish Mc?)

My dad's name is Alan, FiL is Christopher, surname like yours - I've always thought Christopher Alan McXY would be a good name (as it happens I've only the one & she's a dd)

Fimbo · 11/09/2009 16:50

Och it is obvious then - Ewan!!

Struan Alan McGregor

Robbie Alan McGregor

I like Finlay.
If you´re just having the one boy, isn´t it OK that you can only agree on the one name?

Hubby & I only ever agreed on one boys name.
Good job the ext was a girl!!!

Nothing that ends with an L - so no Michael!

Sounds daft having 'lalan' in your name.

I only mention as my ex's brother was called Dougal Alan.

Sounded like the chorus of a Bay City Rollers song - Doog-a-lalan.

Robert. Now that's a man's name.

Pyrocanthus · 11/09/2009 17:39

I second Robert. Or David.

Love Hamish.

Finlay James?

missismac · 11/09/2009 18:33

We've got an Edward Allan Mc . . .(single syllable). It rolls off the tongue nicely.

missismac · 11/09/2009 18:35

Ripmacwinkle - Calum Alan . Like the other names though.

diddl · 11/09/2009 18:36
