I saw it in a newspaper and thought it was lovely. MIL hates it, though my mum thinks it's nice. What do you think?

jeebies?

LynetteScavo · 07/09/2009 14:59

exactly, falcon.

Twinsmommy · 07/09/2009 14:59

Brings images of Hebe hair salon for me!

Blu · 07/09/2009 15:00

It's lovely.

WowOoo · 07/09/2009 15:00

I think of the plant that i don't really like.

swingsofglory · 07/09/2009 15:00

Sister of a friend of mine has called her daughter Hebe.

We all thought [hmmm] i'm afraid. Sorry.

belgo · 07/09/2009 15:05

I know an Iebe - pronounced ee- buh. That's pretty. Don't like Hebe though.

GetOrfMoiLand · 07/09/2009 15:08

I like it. Hasn't it got unfortunate connotations, something to do with someone falling down in a bush?

I prefer Veronica (the roman version of the name, iirc).

GetOrfMoiLand · 07/09/2009 15:10

I think my last post was nonsense - apparently Hebe was the most beautiful of the greek goddesses. Nowt about falling over in bushes (where did that idea come from I wonder?).

boodleboot · 07/09/2009 15:15

I really want to like it but just think that Phoebe which sounds almost the same is a far less 'take the piss-able' name for her....

diddl · 07/09/2009 15:43

Love it, love it, love it!!!

Egg · 07/09/2009 15:45

I know a gorgeous little girl called Hebe, so like it because of her, but would not have chosen it myself. She has a sister also with a flower name who is equally gorgeous!

noddyholder · 07/09/2009 15:46

I like a lot of flower names - Daisy, Poppy, Lily, etc. but I don't like Hebe I am afriad.

Tambajam · 07/09/2009 16:00

In abstract I actually think it's a great name. But I'm afraid jeebies has ruined it.

diddl · 07/09/2009 17:41

Did I say I love it??!!

GrendelsMum · 07/09/2009 18:52

I love it - but I agree that I don't much like the plant.

hmm, I quite like Hebe. More unusual than Phoebe and infinitely easier to spell. Depends on your surname to some extent though - remember that Hebe can also suggest "he be ..."

sleepsforwimps · 08/09/2009 08:58

I love it, my ds would have been Hebe if he'd been a girl.

Wilts · 08/09/2009 09:03

Ds1 has a friend called Hebe, I like it.

MmeLindt · 08/09/2009 09:06

Would not know how to spell/pronounce it. I actually htought it was a boy's name.

fortyplus · 08/09/2009 09:09

Do you really want to name a child after a small round bush?

hackneyzoo · 08/09/2009 09:09

I love it, DD was going to be Hebe but had gone off it by the time she was born after talking about the name so much, wish I had called her it now.
