i really like Wilson instead of William for a boy....whats the MN consensus?

To me it just signals Wil(l)'s son, hence its a surname - son of William. Is DH a William?

I think Wilson is a dull and boring surname. Definitely wouldn't use it for a first name.

I normally just like traditional names but this name has made me stop and think and yes I do like it. I have no problem with surnames being first names, it seems to be more popular north of the border maybe, Cameron, Gordon, Bruce, James, Martin,Campbell, etc etc
I know no Wilsons, but yes I like it !

Dr House's friend's name is Dr Wilson.

It's an awful 1st name. I'm with crumpette.
