No.
But thanks for the best laugh I've had all day

MollieO · 07/08/2009 22:33

Merrilees is nice (tv chef).

MrsEricBana · 07/08/2009 22:35

Sorry no BUT know two people called Merrilees and sounds lovely to me and is hardly different.

cthea · 07/08/2009 22:36

How about Marilyn?

electra · 07/08/2009 22:36

no, no, no, no, no!

imho.....

BlackLetterDay · 08/08/2009 00:00

I like it, makes me think of Merrily Watkins (??) the exorcist vicar.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 08/08/2009 00:12

Are you serious?

NO!!

TAFKAtheUrbanDryad · 08/08/2009 00:40

My dd is Meredith, we liked Merry as a name but it is a name for a little girl, not a grown woman. We figure she can choose to be Merry, or Edith, or Edie when she's older - or use her full name.

Merrily is blardy awful IMO.

thumbwitch · 08/08/2009 00:42

Marylea would be better than Merrily, or Mary Leigh.

Otherwise Row Row Row your boat might get a bit painful.

Mumcentreplus · 08/08/2009 00:46

..nope

Mumcentreplus · 08/08/2009 00:48

Marisa?..Melinda?

paisleyleaf · 08/08/2009 01:03

I think people will often think you're saying Mary Leigh anyway

sunshinejanuary · 08/08/2009 09:05

Black Letter Day - it made me think of her too! It is a 'real' name just not usual, or popular by the looks of it round here!!!

AvadaKedavra · 08/08/2009 09:11

Mary Leigh = Dairylea

I like Merrilees

notsoteenagemum · 08/08/2009 09:17

When I first read it I though no way,
but it has grown on me by the end of page 2.

I do get the living up to the name thing though,
I know tennagers Gorgeous and Summer who have a hard time, Gorgeous is but thinks she isn't, and Summer is a Goth so not very summery.

edam · 08/08/2009 09:21

Good grief, those pregnancy hormones really have some bizarre effects.

Do you want your daughter to face a lifetime of people singing 'row, row, row the boat'?

crocodilesmiles · 11/01/2012 21:43

Just had to revive this thread. I think Merrily is Gorgeous with a capital G!

Don't know if I'm in the minority......Surely it's nicer than Ethel as in Lily Allen's daughter!

Has anyone used it / Plan on using it?

olefina · 11/01/2012 22:25

I like the sound but can't help following up with 'on high'.

I like Merryn and Merigon which are similar.

lollystix · 11/01/2012 22:37

I just thought 'ding dong' when I saw the thread title - sorry

yellowraincoat · 11/01/2012 22:40

Imagine if she turned out to be a bit of a grumblebot, OP. That's no bad thing, I'm a bit sour faced myself, but it would be a silly name for me.

If it even IS a name. I've never heard it before.

NorkyPies · 11/01/2012 22:51

Sounds pretty, but difficult to live up to (or with) if she turns out to be serious, introverted, studious.

Lonnie · 11/01/2012 22:55

I dont mind it but then I knew a Merrilly who was just adorable
