I thought we were settled on Felix Arthur (section in 16 days) but sent a text today to DH suggesting Felix Oscar.

He now prefers Oscar Felix and says he likes Oscar a lot more than Felix.

I know we can wait until we see what he looks like but what does the MN jury think?

Felix Oscar
Oscar Felix

Disclaimer: I've had enough references to the cat food to last me a lifetime .

Magbags and all, I think it is 99% going to be Felix. I have graciously allowed DH to decide on middle names .

When are you due again Magbags?

Five weeks to go Suwoo but would like to settle on a name beforehand. I am not so sure about the "wait and see the baby" idea as I am expecting not to be the clearest of mind again after the labour / birth experience!

It worked for us last time to have decided on what the name would be before dd arrived and want to do the same this time if we can. Different for everyone I guess. Now, just the small matter of what to choose...

Dh still set on Felix. I really love it too but have to feel 100% comfortable with the choice and still have a niggling cat related doubt (damn those catfood people). Any words of wisdom to help me get over it? Am envying your 99% sure position.

I just keep thinking that there are connotations with every name. Also teasing potential and stupid nicknames- Felix is no different.

How would you feel if you couldn't have Felix, would you be upset, do you feel possesive of the name? I do.

Once, he is born and people accept him as 'Felix' they/you will forget about any cat and cat food connections because he will be the only Felix they think of IYKWIM.

I have always had name piced out before they have been born and not deviated. This is the latest we have left it.

Yes I do feel possesive about the name! Thought that was just me! Saw a couple of mums in the library the other day with their toddlers (boys) and had the thought: imagine one of those little boys was called Felix and I hadn't picked it. I'd be gutted!

There's your answer then

Yes, you are probably right. All the best for the arrival of your little boy btw, guess you only have a few days to go now. I hope he does end up being a Felix! We have just been shopping for a little boys jacket for the bump and dh (walking the jacket around the shop at toddler height) was saying "hello, my name's Felix". Oh dear.

Thats quite strange behaviour from your DH .

Look out for the birth announcement in 11 days. I will be updating MN and FB straight from my iphone in the hospital .

Thanks for your good wishes.
