perfectly standard names these days.

Although I've never heard of a Marlo, it doesn't sound especially unusual or strange.

hana · 09/07/2009 17:28

like Marlo (boy?)

don't like the other 2

bleh · 09/07/2009 17:29

LOVE Gabriel. There's a song about a Gabriel which I really love too.

Primrose. Meh
Marlo. Hm.

Lizzylou · 09/07/2009 17:29

I like those names, lovely.

4andnotout · 09/07/2009 17:30

Love Gabriel and Marlo, Primrose is a bit meh.

LaDiDaDi · 09/07/2009 17:30

I like Primrose.

Would prefer Marlow or Marlowe as a spelling.

currymaid · 09/07/2009 17:30

OMG I know you in RL!

boodleboot · 09/07/2009 17:34

who do you you know??

currymaid · 09/07/2009 17:36

Nah, I'm teasing.

I think those names are all bonkers btw.

currymaid · 09/07/2009 17:36

(apart from Gabriel)

weegiemum · 09/07/2009 17:37

I don't like any of them.

I know lots of people like Gabriel for a boy, but it just conjures up a girl in a white nightie and tinfoil wings saying "I bring you glad tidings" or something...... I just don't like it!

yama · 09/07/2009 17:38

I bet Marlo's parents watched 'The Wire'.

boodleboot · 09/07/2009 17:39

dammit....i thought i had come across my first RL crossover...

my opinions on them are that i can't work out if i absolutely love Primrose or if it is too old lady...i can't bear Primmy as NN but guess they can go with Rosie which is ok but but meh - i'm out on this one....

Gabriel is lovely and Marlo is nice but not really for me i don't think. I think i prefer Marley

Marlo is a little boy....born in oz.

Like Gabriel but the poor lad will probably be teased all the way through school. There was a Gabriel in dd's class, he got called all sorts from Angel to gay.

Jennylee · 09/07/2009 18:18

My cousin called her girl Shakira...after the singer

Lizzylou · 09/07/2009 18:49

Jennylee, my mate (called Jennie), has a cusin who has called her DD Shakira....

Bonkers.

Jennylee · 09/07/2009 19:14

Lizzylou · 09/07/2009 19:16

"My" Shakira has a real Northern sounding surname as well,

QOD · 09/07/2009 19:16

I just met an 8 month old Erica and a 6 month old Nancy
Not unusual but OLD names

LyraSilvertongue · 09/07/2009 19:21

Our next door neighbour (10) is called Gabriel. It's a lovely name.
Don't like Primrose of Marlo.

Jennylee · 09/07/2009 19:22
