Surname has three syllables - with lots of S and L sounds so restricts my choices a bit (nothing ending with S or X)

So far we have...

Elijah
George
Isaac
Jack
Levi
Henry
Hugo

Which do you rate - and which do you hate...?

Meglet · 24/06/2009 22:39

Pingpong · 24/06/2009 22:40

George is the only one I like out of that list and I only like it a little bit

jellybeans · 24/06/2009 22:40

goodasgold · 24/06/2009 22:45

They are all lovely names. Have faith in your son to make whatever name you give him beautiful.

PlumpRumpSoggyBaps · 24/06/2009 23:00

Love, love , love Hugo (wanted it for ds2 but wasn't allowed)

Don't like George, Isaac, Elijah, Henry.

Quite like Levi.

Ambivalent towards Jack!!

Tommy · 24/06/2009 23:07

only like the old testament ones

tigana · 24/06/2009 23:21

think elijah maybe bit of a mouthful with 3 syllable surname? Also..bit hobbity...?
issac has s sound...will it be too much with the ss's in surname too?

quite like george, hugo, jack and henry. Not my sort of names iykwim, but ok.

Levi...nope.

Tortington · 24/06/2009 23:22

levi or eli

thelollipoplady · 25/06/2009 07:34

Thanks all of you - good points tigana. No clear favourites emerging yet though, you're all pretty split. Bit like us really. DH likes the old testament ones, I like the rest. Jack is just in there - cos it goes and it's easy. Yes those other OT ones are nice dizzy - like Jonah better out of the two, but I don't love them iykwim.

Keep going - be as cutting as you can and perhaps we can whittle these down!

I like Isaac (DS has a similar name) and Henry. But then I've got a bit of a Tudor obsession so that may influence it!

Bucharest · 25/06/2009 07:40

Elijah- love love love
George- hate hate hate
Isaac- s'OK
Jack- yawn
Levi- bit out there....I can see Boden wearers using it, but can also hear it being shrieked in Asda (and pronounced wrong)
Henry- bit boringly posh
Hugo- too posh. He'll be forced to wear a Barber jacket.

piscesmoon · 25/06/2009 07:51

George, Jack and Henry-hate the rest-particularly Elijah and Levi.

brimfull · 25/06/2009 08:15

Isaac and Levi OK, nothing special.

George, Jack, Henry dull dull dull.

How about Noah or Jake?

MamaLazarou · 25/06/2009 09:01

I LOVE them all, apart from Jack (too common, unimaginative and is just a nickname anyway) and Hugo (laughably posh).

Issy123 · 25/06/2009 09:14

RubyLove1 · 25/06/2009 12:10

Elijah - my half brothers name, I love it (love Eli for short also)
George - Asda, shop there too much so no
Isaac - Love it
Jack - and the Beanstalk, too dull for me
Levi - my DP's name, so a bit biased (contemplating having a Levi Jnr if we ever have a boy)
Henry - the 8th, too old fashioned
Hugo - too posh for me, makes me think of Hugo Boss as well.

ThePhantomPlopper · 25/06/2009 13:05
