My DD, aged 6, is called Marbella. Do you think it's chav to name DC after places?

If not, what place names do you like as names for DC?

missmem - Chad is a saint's name and perfectly suitable if you're white ( and a boy).

Keith is a town. And there's loads of them.

How about twins called East & West Dulwich?

Gattina83 · 25/06/2009 20:29

India, Florence, Sienna all nice places and make nice names, Marbella - not such a nice place and not so nice for a name. Saying that I quite like Preston for a name!
Talking of diseases i always think Valeria sounds like malaria and Ruby Ella like rubella! haa!

I knew a Capri, named because she was conceived there. She was born shortly before the Ford Capri came out. Poor girl.

DD would have been called Lewisham a la Beckhams.
Much better boy's name.

at Bexley!
How about Bromley?

thell · 28/06/2009 02:02

or Croydon?

I met a little girl called America once. It's the only name when I have had to really grit my teeth and try and say something positive.

Personally I prefer giving children real names, not making something up on the spur of the moment.

I used to live in Newcastle (the one upon Tyne) and quite fancied Jesmond and Jarrow for twins.

My middle name is Liguanea (Li-ga-nee), after where my dad used to live in Jamaica.
