Friend has called dd Freya. Unfortunately it was top of our shortlist

We have a long and unusual surname so need something with 2 syllables, not too unusual (but pref not too common), and ideally not ending in an ee sound.

Suggestions?

I agree that Freya is lovely, I have a 4 yo DD called Freya. She can be a bit of a madam though!

We also liked Erin, Charlotte and Poppy

I never liked Freya until I heard it in Waitrose beign applied to a nice little girl and now I do rather like it!

Anyway, not helping...

Thora or Flora sound similar - nice and soft sounding names. Or how about Esther/Hester?

Freya is lovely, so how unfortunate for you.

Sticking with the Scandi theme, Astrid?

Freya is lovely.
Are you sure you can't use it anyway? I have a bunch of friends and family who are due before or around the time that I am and if any of them happen to use the name I am after I will just use it too! And Freya is very popular right now so neither of them will be the only one...

If not, how about Imogen, Laure, Flora (love this name), Kitty (people who have a DD called Freya seem to have a second DD called Kitty around here!), Greta (if only my DH would allow me to use this one) or Merle? OK, so they aren't all 2 syllables, but maybe one will do.
