I like Rachael Niamh or Charlotte Niamh!
Not too keen on the Bronte - mainly because I've heard it screamed across the playground by a mother and it doesn't sound good.....

livvyanddaisymummy · 30/04/2009 19:54

Charlotte Amber

GreatGooglyMoogly · 30/04/2009 19:56

you can't really shorten amber can you?

i'm not orgasmic over any of them

troutpout · 30/04/2009 19:57

Amber
Amber Charlotte Niamh?

mogwai · 30/04/2009 19:58

We used to live in Sydney and Bronte was our favorite beach

DH desperately wants Alexandra and says we can shorten it to Sasha. I do like the name Sasha but people keep telling me it's a dog's name.

I like Charlotte shortened to Lottie but DH says he would shorten it to charlie. Yuck.

I thought Bronte might have a special meaning.

mogwai · 30/04/2009 20:00

I never even realised it was a name, just thought we could "get away with it" but then heard it was a name after all.

Deep love for Australia/Sydney. Could use Sydney but how naff!

(our surname begins with a "b" otherwise would use it)

I can't see the point of middle names unless there's a family connection.
They're all nice on their own so put together sound a bit odd.
Amber and Niamh crop up most in your combinations so Amber Niamh?

wotulookinat · 30/04/2009 20:05

I thought you were literary folk when I saw Bronte.
I prefer Charlotte Amber.

mogwai · 30/04/2009 20:05

I like Charlotte and Bronte but obviously can't put them together...

mogwai · 30/04/2009 20:06

(DD1 has three names and we used up the nice family ones with her. Seems mean to give a second daughter only one name!!)

Alexandra Bronte Rowen??

Another vote for Charlotte Amber. Sounds very nice together.

sockmonster · 30/04/2009 20:10

Please feel free to ignore me but Amber screams late 80s to me. In fact I named a baby Amber when I was 10 years old (not my own of course!) so I'd avoid it, but it's all subjective I guess.

I hate Niamh with a passion- why why why!?? Rachael is going to become 'rach' which I don't like.

Sorry for the negativity! The classics are Alexandra and Charlotte, which are great. I think either:

Alexandra Charlotte

Charlotte Amber

Or Charlotte Alexandra.

Alexandra gets my top vote due to its versatility, the numerous potential nicknames and the fact it will be great when she is 20,40,93!

mogwai · 30/04/2009 20:12

damn you agree with my dh

charmargot · 30/04/2009 20:13

My sister is Rachel and has NEVER been Rach.

sockmonster · 30/04/2009 20:14

OK revised-

Alexandra Bronte
Charlotte Amber
Alexandra Charlotte
Charlotte something...

Alexandra and Charlotte (and Bronte if you must as a middle name) are good as they begin with A/B/C- great for future career prospects...

sockmonster · 30/04/2009 20:15

Charlotte Rachel?

OK I'm not helping much sorry!

wotulookinat · 30/04/2009 20:23

TBH, I would avoid the name Bronte - may come across as a bit pretentious.
Charlotte is a great name.

SK1980 · 30/04/2009 20:41

Charlotte Amber is really pretty and elegant.

sockmonster · 30/04/2009 20:44

Charlotte Amber

lunamoon2 · 30/04/2009 23:00

My favourite 2 are Charlotte and Alexandra.

I don't think Amber Bronte Niamh flows at all, it sounds like a list of 3 seperate children.
