It's lovely, and one that I have considered too as it would 'go' with my other two dd's names. That said it does sound a bit like a boho clothing company, but it is still very nice.

moondog · 13/04/2009 16:07

India is twee and common.
How about Indira? That's a cool name.

beavermummy · 13/04/2009 16:10

Go for it - my DD is Willow Rose. Don't like Rose for first name but it is perfect as middle - family link for us too. I'm a teacher and there's only one India in our school - never heard of it before that - and she's gorgeous.

Mooseheart · 13/04/2009 16:10

Oh yes... Indira I like! (Makes mental note).

SAEJ · 13/04/2009 16:59

Love it, very pretty. My friend has twins called India and Amber and they are gorgeous.

BunnyLebowski · 13/04/2009 17:00

It's absolutely GORGEOUS! Go for it I say!

Also love Indira if you want something a wee bit more unusual.

EachPeachPearMum · 13/04/2009 17:04

There is a mner with an India Rose- it's lovely.

KingRolo · 13/04/2009 17:06

Beautiful. Yes, go for it.

emmaa1973 · 13/04/2009 20:56

Lovely choice of names - do they fit with your surname? Know two girls called India - one is spelt Indiah - not sure why but good alternative? or not?

Leannabanana · 14/04/2009 14:43

yeah i think the surname is fine with most names to be honest except things ending in -anne as ours ends in -han....it is definitely on the list as a firm possible...although SAEJ metioned a friend with India and Amber....thats a name i hadn't even thought of which is beautiful....Amber. x

pointydog · 14/04/2009 14:59

not keen on India

FlyMeToDunoon · 14/04/2009 15:08

My DD3 is called this. We toyed with the two together as her name but settled on India by itself and Rose as her middle name. Kind of regret it now.

FlyMeToDunoon · 14/04/2009 15:09

Regret not having them together, not calling her the name.

Leannabanana · 14/04/2009 17:53

what do you call her as NN? x

FlyMeToDunoon · 14/04/2009 18:12

DP is quite a big Indiana Jones fan too.

Leannabanana · 14/04/2009 18:15

Indy is cute.

We were vaguely thinking we may have a dark haired, dark eyed little DD when we were waiting for her to arrive and India might be fitting but no she was like our other two-fair hair and blue eyes. DP and I have brown hair and I have brown eyes.

I don't know any other Indias.

Leannabanana · 14/04/2009 18:22

what does she think of her name if you don't mind me asking [if she is old enough to care of course ha ]

OP posts:
FlyMeToDunoon · 14/04/2009 18:42

She is only two and a half.

No opinion yet.

HuwEdwards · 14/04/2009 18:44

I know a child with this (lovely) name. She is called Indie though which I think is a travesty.

ramonaquimby · 14/04/2009 18:50

it's a bit predictable I think - Rose is a very very common name, and 'India' a bit twee.

FlyMeToDunoon · 14/04/2009 19:03

BTW everyone we know loves DD's name and several were really disappointed we didn't call her the full India Rose.

TripleBYPass · 15/04/2009 09:22

I really like this name. It's very feminine and pretty.

noddyholder · 15/04/2009 09:31

Pretty but quite common. Is working its way from quite bohemian to a bit everyday
