I have annoyed everyone over the last few days by filling MN with baby name threads but this is the final one!

Our list is:

Isaac (slight problem as my nephew is called Zak)
Cassius
Cassian
Raphael

We will wait till baby is born to decide but out of interest which one would you pick?

And you can say 'none of them' I wont be offended

I am worried about Issac/zack TBH

I didn't even think Zac was a nickname for Isaac, I thought it was eye-zuk. Totally different name unless you intend on Zac as nn. Prefer Isaac of those on your list.

Linnet · 04/04/2009 15:30

Isaac

kidcreoleandthehotcrossbuns · 04/04/2009 15:32

Issac followed closely by Cassius

Quattrocento · 04/04/2009 15:39

I was interested in your choice of Cassian and googled it to find out more. You'll know that it is a longstanding but rare name of latin origin - pronounced Cashun. Think he would have to spend the rest of his life spelling it out for people

See-ay-ess-ess-i-ay-enn - no it's too difficult

Raphael is a bit too flowery.

Cassius is nice as is Isaac

andlipsticktoo · 04/04/2009 15:45

Cassius

piscesmoon · 04/04/2009 15:45

I wouldn't have any. However Isaac is the best of the bunch -but you might have problems as people are spelling it 2 different ways on this thread!

cyteen · 04/04/2009 15:45

Isaac's the only one I like.

QuackQuackQuackQuack · 04/04/2009 15:50

Not many people like Raphael on this thread by the looks of it

Raphael is gorgeous

Quattrocento · 04/04/2009 15:56

Raphael is a good name for an artistic sensitive soul. What happens if you give birth to a big bruiser of a boy (as I did) who was clearly destined to play a lot of rugby? It'd be utterly incongruous wouldn't it?

tringle · 04/04/2009 15:57

Isaac, I find the others a bit too unusual..sorry.

DeborahBorr · 04/04/2009 16:00

Rafa is a good shortening. Rafa Benitez isn't fey or arty.

artichokes · 04/04/2009 16:09

Isaac is lovely
Rafa or Raf are sweet
Hate the other two and particularly loathe Cassian.

QuackQuackQuackQuack · 04/04/2009 16:29

I think its between three now TBH. I think Cassian is out of the running

Cassius

Not keen on Isaac
Really don't like Raphael

LetThemEatCake · 04/04/2009 16:46

well as you know, my ds is Cassian and I love it. And it is not necessarily pron Cash-un.

Anyway, agree that we frequently have to correct people - no, not Cassius, no, not Caspian ... etc etc

But I like all 4 names. Raphael is definitely up there for me. Think abbreviations are important so...

you have expressed concerned about Isaac --> Zac
you have expressed concerns about Cassius/ Cassian --> Cass
But Raphael to Raff, Raffy is lovely

So that's my choice for you.

HappyBump · 04/04/2009 16:48

I love Rafi (my little boy's best friend is called Rapheal) and I have a nephew called Isaac who is just adorable. So I favour either of those names. I am not sure about the others but that's because I am not familiar with them. Choose the name YOU love the best and the baby will grow into the name and it doesn't really matter what anyone says now as soon as you name your baby it will be that name. (sorry I sound like I am lecturing)

Leannabanana · 04/04/2009 17:18

Isaac

raphael will always be the red ninja turtle to me....

yama · 04/04/2009 17:22

Raphael is perhaps my favourite ever boys name - don't know if I'd be brave enough to use it though.

I also love Cassius but not keen on the other two at all.

FlorenceDaphne · 04/04/2009 17:56

I love Isaac abd the Cas names. I don't think Zac is a nickname for Isaac, is it? I only know one Isaac (9 years old) and he goes by Isie (Eye-zee).

Littlepurpleprincess · 04/04/2009 18:06

Isaac.

subtlemouse · 04/04/2009 18:06

"Yond Cassius has a lean and hungry look.
He thinks too much; such men are dangerous."

Do you want DS to try to take over the world??

Raphael, on the other hand, is clearly an interior decorator.

MuffinToptheMule · 04/04/2009 18:52

I love Cassius. Not fond of Raphael.

JackiePaper · 04/04/2009 18:54

would you shorten raphael to raffi - i love that name
