OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Numberfour · 04/04/2009 18:51

makes me wonder what goes on in these slebs heads, naming their offspring as they do. i reckon it is abusive and making it all the more likely that the little ones will be teased at school.

stupid tw*ts

louisejohnson87 · 04/04/2009 19:30

I think that Celebrity Big Brothers take on the celeb names was awesome and so true!!!

Where the "celeb couple" got those baby dolls and called them

Table
Fork
Spoon
etc

I do feel really sorry for these poor kids! Do you think getting famous ACTUALLY destroys all commonsense??

melissa75 · 04/04/2009 20:05

it is such a terrible name...the poor child, imagine when she gets to school, she will be torn apart with a name like that. Kids will use ANY excuse to pick on another, and with this name they do not even need an excuse!

Nancy66 · 04/04/2009 20:53

I've heard worse celeb names. But it's one of those names where you have to look the part to carry it off - what if she ends up being built like a brickie?

FairLadyOfMuslinCloth · 04/04/2009 20:59

Duncan Jones is Zowie Bowie....I never new that....
well, he was Duncan Zowie Bowie I suppose...

FairLadyOfMuslinCloth · 04/04/2009 21:01

Nancy, looking at the ther girls and the parents...I doubt Petal will look anything but gorgeous....

lunamoon2 · 04/04/2009 21:49

It goes with the other "flowery" type names they have chosen.
Not my personal choice but not too bad considering.

Tamlin · 04/04/2009 22:12

It IS a My Little Pony name.

Good lord.

angrypixie · 04/04/2009 22:15

I just don't get
'They'll never be a lawyer/prime minister/ managing director with a name like that' comments.

What????
and
Why???

Isn't there a barrister or even perhaps judge called Cupcake Brown?

MrsHarry · 04/04/2009 22:36

Petal is the piglet in 'Big Barn Farm' (CBeebies) It is a cute piglet name.....

"...nobody bats an eyelid now when they read about Fifi, Peaches and Pixie...."

  • I'm sorry, but when you read what their full names are - oh, and there's Tiger Heavenly Lily Whatever as well, they sound pretty silly to me and I DO bat both my eyelids actually..
mooseloose · 04/04/2009 22:50

awful. Petal isn't a flower name at all, like the others. makes me think of a puppy or a horse.

belgo · 05/04/2009 12:04

Petal Blossom MLP

yappybluedog · 05/04/2009 12:13

love that George Foreman has named his sons George I, George II, George III, George IV & George V

BonsoirAnna · 05/04/2009 12:17

If they have a boy next time round they can call him Leaf Leif

lunamoon2 · 05/04/2009 12:56

Btw it was good to see a picture of all 3 with Jools still looking rather large ( and I mean that in the nicest possible way!)
Instead of looking as though she had never eaten a decent meal in her entire life, plastered in makeup and wearing size 0 skin tight jeans, like most "celebrity" women seem to do 10 minutes after giving birth

Good on you I thought

ZZZen · 05/04/2009 17:44

Peaches, Fifi and Pixie don't make me bat an eyelid, they send my whole face into contortions.

Fifi soundsl ike a French poodle and Peaches sounds very kinky to me.

kittywise · 05/04/2009 18:06

shit

So he didn't get a boy then?

There should honestly be rules like what they have in Denmark.

allthoseeggsaremine · 05/04/2009 19:44

We have loads and loads of girls called peaches in a gypsy settlement a few miles from our local town!! They go to the local schools for a little while, so that name is normal to us!!

Still can't get over the fact that the Olivers stole my cats names they are most upset about it

ZZZen · 06/04/2009 09:19

oh didn't know that. Well I suppose if you hear it a lot, it starts to sound less odd. Jsut makes me think of the Stranglers (how old am I?!) : "walking on the beaches, looking at the peaches"

Leannabanana · 06/04/2009 09:40

what rules are there in denmark then??

coochicoo · 06/04/2009 09:59

I'm just not keen on 'themed' naming. I know it's good to have names that 'go' together, but why do they all have to be flowers (or parts of flowers, poor petal!). Like sisters Pearl, Ruby and Emerald, or April, May and June. It's just a bit too much for me.

I also agree that if they had to do it, then there are some nicer (imo) flower/plant names - Iris, Fleur and Willow are my favourites.

NormaJeanBaker · 06/04/2009 12:14

Grandfather in law called his children One, Two and Three (he was an engineer and thought numbers perfectly good for all occasions) but they used their middle names - given by their more socially astute mother.

cheesesarnie · 06/04/2009 12:25

ds1 use to call himself rainbow and wanted ds2 to be rainbow-that or kitten.

i quite like it!

my dad wanted to name one of my sisters badger.hmmmm

belgo · 06/04/2009 12:35

Norma - really?! that's very funny

kittywise · 06/04/2009 13:14

leanna, they have very strict rules about what children can be called, to protect them basically from loonies like the olivers and many other celebs.
here is an article if you fancy a gander
