Ebony for a boy? I would have thought more a girls name. Kobie... is that a real name (I am thinking of the city of Kobe here).

buzzzybee · 02/04/2009 10:49

sounds like something from star wars?

princessmel · 02/04/2009 10:49

Not keen on Kobi.

Cody is better. But not too keen on that either!

Phoenix · 02/04/2009 10:50

Sorry don't like it, Coby looks slightly better.

bluebump · 02/04/2009 10:54

I'm not that keen on Kobie to be honest. It does remind me of Kobe Bryant the US basketball player which isn't a bad thing.

Kobe Bryant was names after an expensive type of beef his parents saw on a menu. That would put me off the name!

Twims · 02/04/2009 10:59

I know a Cobi which looks much better than Kobie

MrsMattie · 02/04/2009 11:00

Kobe - reminds me of Kobe Bryant, the basketball player. Which might have been OK before he was embroiled in a huge sex scandal/rape case thing a few years back

Coby reminds me of those Cody/Brodie/Brady made up American names.

belgo · 02/04/2009 11:01

Kobe is an old germanic name. Pronounced Co-ba.

donnie · 02/04/2009 11:02

isn't Kobi in Japan?

Then there is the Gobi desert

just not a good idea.

Khara · 02/04/2009 11:27

There's a Kobe in my ds's school who's a girl. It's the only time I've come across it so I assumed it was a girl's name.

bluebump · 02/04/2009 11:30

Oh yeah MrsMattie I forgot about that scandal! Maybe a name to be avoided then, also if he was named after some beef, that's so funny YesSirICanBoogie, I never knew that!

jenkel · 02/04/2009 11:39

I know a little boy called Kobie, dont like it much, sorry.

RachieB · 02/04/2009 12:10

Kobie sounds made up

Prefer Toby! lol

Nancy66 · 02/04/2009 13:01

don't like it - sorry. Sounds made up

tummytickler · 02/04/2009 13:04

Dont like Kobie i am afraid.
What about Caleb?
It has a similar sound, but a bit more traditional to go with Harry and Ebonie (which are lovely btw).
I think Harry, Ebonie and Caleb sound lovely together.

madwomanintheattic · 02/04/2009 13:06

too many obi wan jokes.

cody? kody? if you must? don't think it goes particularly with the other two...

hifi · 02/04/2009 13:07

sounds like a tropical fish.

nappyaddict · 13/04/2009 12:52

I like Coby for a girl but not a boy.

Having an ie sound at the end of all 3 names of kids sounds stupid IMO.

Is Kobie actually a name?

Cody sounds like a venerial disease so please don't go for that!

4andnotout · 13/04/2009 13:07

I like Kobe, we had it picked for if dd3 was a boy, it is a diminutive of Jacob and we wanted a hebrew name as dp's mum is jewish.
My friend them named her ds Cody so we couldn't use it now if we wanted to

4andnotout · 13/04/2009 13:08

The meaning of Kobe
