i was just looking at a list of the usa's most popular girls names for the 1960's. They're really normal names and i know lots of people with these names, but I dont think anyone would give their baby those names now. I wonder will they become fashionable again. Would you use these names? do you know any babies with these names? Here's some examples:

karen
susan
kimberley
patricia
donna
michelle
cynthia
sandra
deborah
pamela
b renda
angela
barbara
sharon
teresa
denise
tina
carol
tracy
stacey
sonya
sheila

I like Tina and Cynthia too.

I know a few Karens who are teenagers, and DD1 had a Kimberley (Kim) in her class. Two of the DDs had Jacqueline/Jaclyns in their classes. All the DCs had/have Rachels, Sarahs and Emmas in their classes, several in each class in fact. Katherine, Elizabeth and Margaret (usually Maggie) also well represented.

I had lots of Lindas, Brendas, Anne-Maries, Geraldines, Nicolas, Carolines, Helens, Jacquelines, (in Ireland)

Some of the names from the list have modern equivalents:
Susan -- Susannah
Angela -- Angelina
Teresa -- Tess/Tessa
Sonya -- Sofia/Sophia/Sophie

My dd's middle name is Denise. She's 21 months.

Shock I wanted to use Denise for DD1's mn but was talked out of it. Her first name is French and I thought they would go nicely.

my names have already been mentioned loads of times (born late 60's).

Don't forget Katherine as well.

the thing is when I was little I imagined I might name a daughter a pretty name like Claire or Joanne after my friends at school!

Only read pages 1 and 5, so apologies if there's duplication. These were my classmates, born 1966-67 (primary and high school).

Karen x2
Alison x2
Helen x4
Anne x3

The weirdest thing about that list is that my name was the only one that came up as a mis-spelling! It's quite a traditional name too!

Forgot Louise x2!
