One of my best friends is called Susannah, she is a wonderful, warm, elegant and generous - so the name has very positive connotations for me.

bottersnike · 12/03/2009 18:46

Ds1 would have been Susannah Faith if he'd been a girl.
Lovely name

Leannabanana · 12/03/2009 18:49

Ooh Patience is lovely....Susannah Patience....my surname is three syllables beginning with M....would that make it too long tho i wonder? does it need to be a single syllable middle name?

Bleugh - will get shortened to Sue or Suzy!

Sukey is a dogs name.

piscesmoon · 12/03/2009 18:51

I think it is lovely but I would try not to shorten it.

Milliways · 12/03/2009 18:58

I know a delightful litle Susannah - siblings call her Zannie

rubyslippers · 12/03/2009 18:59

love it

dizzydixies · 12/03/2009 19:52

Oh, I love this name. Think I'd use a z though as I like the letter z. And Suzy is a cool shortening. There's someone fairly prominent called Suzy Leather. What a name

Karamazov · 14/03/2009 22:13

I love it. Susannah is my DD's middle name.

tassisssss · 14/03/2009 22:15

I love it. You could shorten it to Zannah. How about Suzannah Rose or Suzannah Grace?

Milliways - My siblings and I called my wee sister Zani when she was young.

She now calls herself Suzi and loves her name.

So yes, Leannabanana, Susannah get the thumbs up from me.

yama · 14/03/2009 22:19

Oh, and Jane is a nice middle name.

tassisssss · 14/03/2009 22:20

Hello WW!!

nooka · 14/03/2009 22:31

I'm quite keen o it at the moment. Good name, lots of alternatives for shortening. Not sure about Patience in the middle, but it depends on the rhythm of the full name I think. If you like the way it sounds then go for it.

Lonnie · 15/03/2009 11:26

I think it is a beautiful name and it was one dh and I loved for all of our children however his best friend divorced a woman called it whilst I was expecting dd2 so sadly it had to go into the can not use list but I think it is beautiful and she wont be one of 11 others in her year in school yet no one will go you called her WHAT??

sydneysuze · 15/03/2009 11:29

Susannah is my name and I have always loved it - and it works as well in any of the shortened versions although I don't like Sue or Susan personally. The great thing about it is it is well-known enough for everybody to understand it but unusual enough that I was always the only one in my class.

Wolfblass · 15/03/2009 11:50

Oooh Susannah, not heard it for a long while and i adore it!

Sukey or Sukie as nn?

Susannah Alice
Susannah Louise
Susannah Grace
