ConnorTraceptive · 11/03/2009 17:04

I know a little girl called Bambi (I think her mum should be shot )

spongebrainbigpants · 11/03/2009 17:05

Noooooo!

Lol at shooting Bambi's mother!

It's about time we adopted the Dutch system and had an approved list of names!

AnnVan · 11/03/2009 17:58

Oh nooooo. Poor boy. i'm not too judgy about names but LUCIFER!!! how many bets he changes it when he's older??

EdwardBear · 11/03/2009 18:04

Lucifer
Perhaps they got it confused with Lucian?

CalaLilly · 11/03/2009 18:05

No way... why do that to a child?!?!? Wonder if their is a brother called Leviathian and a sister called Demonica?

woodenspoon2 · 11/03/2009 18:05

Now I think Beelzebub is jollier somehow.

themoon66 · 11/03/2009 18:06

Lol at a sister called Demonica!!! Oh played upon the harmonica

themoon66 · 11/03/2009 18:07

OP - please come back and tell us that you asked the mum why she chose that name.

cyteen · 11/03/2009 18:07

i do rather like Lucifer as a name but agree that it has gone beyond the reach of usability. you just wouldn't, would you? except of course someone has.

Wolfblass · 11/03/2009 18:08

pmsl @ Bambi.

Not to keen on Lucifer either...

mickeylou · 11/03/2009 20:29

Lucifer? good grief, thats one heck of an association to carry through life. did you spot any horns?

Wilkiepedia · 11/03/2009 20:58

I know a Morticia

dizzydixies · 11/03/2009 20:59

oh good grief, I bed he's soft as putty too bless him

pinkmagic1 · 11/03/2009 21:01

Poor kid!

wiggletastic · 11/03/2009 21:03

Might as well have called him Judas!!! The best names I heard recently were for twins - a boy and a girl - called Sport and Spring - yikes!

GossipMonger · 11/03/2009 21:03

terrible!!!!!!!!!

we know a Tiger which ds2 thinks is hilarious!!

BakewellTarts · 11/03/2009 21:04

Trust he's shortened it to Luc which is OK...

wiggletastic · 11/03/2009 21:10

Ooh, Gossipmonger, there was a little boy on some property show on the telly the other day called Tiger - I wonder if its the same poor little lad - surely there aren't two!?

minouminou · 11/03/2009 22:36

Lucifer actually means bringer or bearer of light, but obviously, like cyteen says - it's gone beyond usability.

CharCharGabor · 11/03/2009 22:38

Normally I'm pretty non-judgy, but Lucifer! Why oh why would you think that was a good idea?

Nontoxic · 11/03/2009 22:45

When we registered DS2, the lady commented that she liked his (good solid) name, and said that they'd recently managed to dissuade a couple from the name Lucifer - the father's idea, apparently.

And I knew a tiger years ago - had to stifle a laugh when the mother insisted on staying with him at DD's party as 'Tiger's a bit nervous at parties.'

edam · 11/03/2009 22:48

lol at nervous Tiger.

Lucifer, though? Are they mad? Or Satanists? Or so careless they don't actually know what it means?

edam · 11/03/2009 22:49

Even without the Satanic associations, poor kid is bound to be nicknamed 'Lucy' which is not at all helpful for a boy.
