Just wondering whether to risk a popular name.

I have one - he's never had an Oliver in his class - there are 119 other children in his year and only one other Oliver amongst them. On the few occasions we've come across another Ollie in the park etc. he's been thrilled.

Mintyy · 09/03/2009 20:24

My DS is Oliver. He is 5. There are no others in his year at school (90 across 3 classes).

treacletart · 09/03/2009 20:25

he's 5 and a half and in year 1 by the way

snickersnack · 09/03/2009 20:26

None. They are 4. In fact, I only know one Oliver, and he doesn't live round here...

Knax · 09/03/2009 20:26

Thanks, v helpful! Even though i think it's no 3 in list in national stats, doesn't seem to be too many in most classes. Think I'll go for it.
Keep them coming...

Ds1 is in year 8 and I think there are three across about a hundred pupils. He is one of them. there seem to be more Sams.

Lizzylou · 09/03/2009 20:30

None, I do know 3 Olivers who are under 4 though.
DS1 has what MN term a popular name, though I know of only 1 other where we live (and he is 2 years older and hi Mom is a lovely MNer).

KristinaM · 09/03/2009 20:32

none

Fimbo · 09/03/2009 20:41

Neither in either of my dc classes.

Dd is in Year 6
Ds is in Reception

basementbear · 09/03/2009 20:42

One in Reception, one in nursery. Know about three others as well!

Niecie · 09/03/2009 20:45

DS2 had one join his class today but I don't think there are any others around. He didn't start calling him Oliver X(whatever his surname is). He is 5 and in Yr R.

DS1 I think has one in his year (not a very nice boy either). He is 8 and in Yr 4.

Nice name though - I might have called DS2 Oliver but DH wasn't so keen.

None at ds1's preschool. Can't think of any older ones round here either.

Bakersman · 09/03/2009 20:52

None in ds' class, he's 5. Just an Olivia. He was 'almost' an Oliver - I love the name.

NogginOfRum · 09/03/2009 20:53

Only know of two.
One is at secondary school and one is 21.

compo · 09/03/2009 20:55

Drusilla · 09/03/2009 21:12

2 in Ds's playgroup (he is 3.10) and 1 the same age who lives down the road but at a different school. 3 babies under 6 months called Oliver at toddler group.

annasmami · 09/03/2009 22:01

Two Olivers in my ds's reception class of 21. Three in the nursery of 28. Very populur imo.

TheCheeseAlarm · 09/03/2009 22:10

My 10 year old Oliver is the only one in the whole (600+ pupils) school.
