Only 15 weeks, bt really struggling. Was liking Finn, but just not sure. My favourite girls name was Cecily but DH has declared it poncey and pretentious knobhead. I am now liking Kitty for a girl and Felix for a boy. Is Felix just too........feline? . Is everyone always going to think of the cat food or is it just a twats name?

Heeeeeeeeelllllppppp

My dad used to say about felix the cat "felix my icecream i'll punch him on the nose" lol I still like the name though - Is it german? Sounds german - probably isn't but i actually think it sounds quite a strong name, all vikingy and manly yes, i like it, and my friends wee lad called felix is a stunner

Wigglesworth · 19/02/2009 11:01

Don't like it sorry, prefer Finn.

suwoo · 19/02/2009 11:45

Mine is likely to be a skinny malink with fair hair if he/she follows the others, so unlikely to be a bruiser- hopefully Felix will be appropriate....wonder what the PIL will think?

'skinny malink with fair hair' sounds pretty much exactly like both the Felixes I know. Both have a touch of lovable rascal. Very appealing!

I also think it sounds great with your other kids' names.

BennyAndSwoon · 19/02/2009 12:32

My nephew is a felix and I think it is a lovely name

cheesesarnie · 19/02/2009 12:37

i love it.a friends just had felix and i think its lovely

suwoo · 19/02/2009 12:39

Ooh its really growing on me now. this is DS, if no 3 looks like him, he could be a Felix, right?

belcantwait · 19/02/2009 13:03

suwoo · 19/02/2009 13:06

Yeah he has no idea what a rapper is, he was just doing the 'moves'- weirdo! Your DS looks gorgeous in his big brothers stuff cheesesarnie .

I think Felix is great. And Lulubai, wouldn't the plural for Felix be Felices? Or should I just head to pendants' corner right now ...

rosbif · 19/02/2009 13:16

Love it! DS3 would have been a Felix if I had had my way but DH hated it. Went fr Arthur instead. If I have another boy (HIGHLY unlikely) he will be called Felix!

suwoo · 19/02/2009 13:20

Love Arthur rosbif, are you in France BTW?

I love Felix and have secretly chosen it for my LO. Don't know the gender and am waiting until bubs is born before suggesting it as don't want OH to veto it before then

He likes James Bond though and Felix Lighter is a good guy in a few of the Bond movies so OH might be ok, here's hoping!

I was concerned about the cat connection for a little while but decided sod it. I'm called Jemma and when I was at school someone used to go on that their dog was called that. Life's too short to worry about such stuff.

randomname · 19/02/2009 13:57

Love it wanted it for DS2 but have a phoebe and was not sure!

pinkpip100 · 19/02/2009 14:11

My DS2 is Felix and funnily enough fits the description of "a skinny malinki with fair hair" and the "loveable rascal" one perfectly. DH had his concerns about the cat/cat food connection, but so far (2 years on) no one else has mentioned it. Oh, but I'm now 35 weeks pregnant with DC3 and would definitely have had Kitty on my girl name shortlist but DH has said NO WAY because apparently two names with feline connotations in one family would just make us a laughing stock .
Go for it!

LuLuBai · 19/02/2009 14:36

Blue Champagne - as I typed it I did wonder what the plural for Felix might be!

LuLuBai · 19/02/2009 14:38

(oops- double clicked)

And Suwoo - your boy is gorgous. Another one like him could definitely be a Felix.

FuschiaPink · 19/02/2009 15:17

LuLu i also knew a felix in his twenties who was attractive with a mischevious glint!

I think Felix is a lovely name, its a bit different in a good way. It would definitly be on my list if i were to have a boy one day.

I also really like Kitty by the way i think its lovely.

nappyaddict · 19/02/2009 22:32

I love all the names you mentioned in the op.

lizmcfizz · 19/02/2009 23:09

Don't like Felix, sorry but mainly because of the cat connection. So many good names are 'ruined' in this way. I love Rudy but have been told by all and sundry that it is a reindeer's name and will lead to bullying! Any opinions, btw?
