Struggled last time and luckily had a boy - Noah. We're agreed on Edward this time but still can't decide on girls name. Please help us choose:

Audrey or Claudia ?????

The meaning of Claudia has always put me off that name - Claudia is latin for 'lame' or 'disabled'.

I like them both actually. But there's something about the beginning of Audry that I like and maybe not the end? does that make any sense? So maybe Audra?

Pasiphae · 13/02/2009 12:37

Claudia

i like both but weirdly prefer audrey - always makes me think of audrey horn from twin peaks.

clubfoot · 13/02/2009 20:53

Hmmmm looks fairly evenly split. I may have to try the calling the name up the stairs test.....

Love Claudia (or Claudine, also beautiful). Don't worry too much about the meaning - I get people on the training courses I give at work to talk about their names as an ice breaker (also helps me remember them!) and loads of people don't know what their names mean.

Karamazov · 13/02/2009 21:01

Claudia

MrsMattie · 13/02/2009 21:03

Claudia is pretty.

Audrey is that woman from Corrie who used to be in Rentaghost , and I think in the UK you will still get that sort of 'old woman-ish' connotation, rather than the elfin French 'Tatou' one.

MrsMattie · 13/02/2009 21:04

Aurelia? Posh and pretty like Claudia.

Sunflower100 · 13/02/2009 21:30

I like Audrey better but quite like Claudia too

PeppermintPatty · 13/02/2009 21:39

Claudia

dizzydixies · 13/02/2009 21:41

claudia but agree it doesn't have the nicest meaning for such a pretty name

Clary · 13/02/2009 22:00

eachpeach that's funny, I know an Audrey who was almost called Beatrix...

I prefer Audrey to Claudia myself. But what do I know?

dinkymum · 14/02/2009 08:37
