wanted to call dd2 Aoife, but stupidly listened to family members that said she would spend her life telling people how to pronounce it, and that nobody would ever be able to spell it (we are in London so wouldnt think that would be too much of a problem?)anyway, settled for Ava, which I do love, but not quite as much as Aoife, is it just too similar to Ava to use next time?

I have about 10 girls names I love btw, but this one just keeps popping up, I think I already know its too similar but just wondered what you lot thought!

Aoife is a beautiful name. I wanted it on my girl shortlist but my (English) DH couldn't pronounce it properly so it had to go (luckily had a DS instead!!!)

Thanks, most of you have confirmed what I thought anyway, still a bit gutted though, I so wished I had called dd2 it, oh well, i'll just have to think of another hard to prounounce/spell name to annoy my mum

I do actually like the name Clodagh but somebody I know has a dd called this, I have a very long list of girls names so wont be too hard to choose another name, paddington made a good suggestion earlier, i'll prob use it as a middle name.

I like Effie, Thea, Erin, Flora, Iris, India, Ezra...there are lots, dd1 is Lani, I have lots of time to get used to the idea of not having an Aoife
