Really can't decide on a name for our overdue baby girl... can't decide between Alicia, Alissa, Lilia, Isabella, Tabitha or Alexa.. In fact think thats maybe why she's refusing to come out!
Want something pretty, a little different, but not out there ie apple; and not something overused or chavvy. English sounding too.
Opinions be soo welcome, or rating suggested names?
Anything..

Thans so much.

Just thought of a couple of names you might like. There is an Elysia in dd1s class and if you don't go for Tabitha because of the cat associations how about Talitha which is also biblical and I've only ever met one so it's definitely not common

VASTlargeginandbloodymary · 24/10/2008 10:06

I am LOVING Beatrix but am totally miffed as Bea and Beau (we have a Beau) is too similar!

Gah. Call her Tabitha, it is such a lovely name. She can be ultra sensible Beth when she is older if she wants and while she is little you could nn her Tabby, awwwwwwww.

Pink who is the famous Daddy?

Pinkjenny · 24/10/2008 11:49

He's a footballer. That's all I'm saying.

Plonker · 24/10/2008 12:47

Stevie g??

slayerette · 24/10/2008 13:40

I think you might be getting a gold star...

pamelat · 24/10/2008 19:13

Isabella - considered using this ourselves, really like it but reminds me of that silly "joke" Is a bell really necessary on a bike.

Lilia - I like this. I prefer Lydia

Alicia - a bit like calling your child Meredes? Somehow?

Alissa - see Alicia comments.

Tabitha - dont like that at all

Alexa - maybe a bit Mercedes like also?

dinny · 24/10/2008 19:14

Tabitha

(my dd is Tabitha, obv biased)

dinny · 24/10/2008 19:14

who gets called Tabby

LittleMonkeysMummy · 24/10/2008 19:17

I love Isabella althought that is dd's middle name so I am ever so slightly biased

QueenCrystal · 27/10/2008 19:48

i've got an alexa - great name! but i agree that everyone does get it wrong. she's often called alexia by accident and i actually really like that name too. what do you think?

lljkk · 27/10/2008 19:50

Tabitha, although I like Tilda (Tillie) better.

aj13 · 29/10/2008 16:19

Some of you are so harsh about the name Alissa.
My name is Alissa. Im 21 and British.
My whole live Iv had people comment on what a lovely pretty unusaul name it is...
2 people I know even named there daughters Alissa :-)
I think thats the best 1!!!!!

nappyaddict · 01/11/2008 18:14

tabitha shortned to tibby.

fizzpops · 09/11/2008 08:56

Isabella and Tabitha are the only ones from that list that I would think of as 'English' specifically. Both lovely but Isabella more popular. Do love Annabel too.

OracleInaCoracle · 09/11/2008 08:58

i love tabitha!

chocolateteapot · 09/11/2008 09:01

Isabella and Alexa for me.

mickeylou · 25/11/2008 16:48

Tabitha is gorgeous.

ruty · 25/11/2008 16:50

Beatrix is a briilant name, wish i'd thought of it for dd actually.

Hulababy · 25/11/2008 16:51

From OP list - prefer Lilia or Isabella

LuckySalem · 25/11/2008 16:51

DD (Aaliyah) was going to be an Alicia till we found out her DOB was the same as Aaliyah (RnB singer who died in plane crash)

BabyTalk13 · 29/11/2008 00:01

Alissa shortens to....

Ali

or.....

Lissa
Lissy
Liss

Its my name but I dont shorten it really as everyone says its such a gorgeous name as it is

Springflower · 29/11/2008 17:55

Tabitha

Rachybabes · 28/01/2009 14:22

I would definately go with Alice...looking at your choices, i think it is sooo close to what you like , yet it is far more classic and soooooo beautiful !! xx
