Is Ruby too common now?

We both love Ruby... but is it too common now?

And what about Lola? .. And which is better?!

I like the sound Ruby but it is popular.

Ruth Beatrice with Ruby as a nn would be more my style I think.

Lola/Lila very slebby. Trinny and kate M have Lilas.

ruby is a lovely name but, I think, far too many of them now. I know people say 'does it matter' but I think if you like a name then it's because it has a special quality to you - if suddenly every third child is called that then the 'mystique' of that name disappears and it becomes an also-ran.

I really like Lola - it is becoming popular and I just don't get the supposed association with anything sexual.

There were lots of Rubys in North London - now moved to the west country and there are even more of them. Nice name but sadly done to death. But then having names that are popular bothers me and doesnt bother others so if you dont mind go for it.

BUT i wouldn't disbar a name due to popularity.but if trying to avoid at school RubyA,RubyB,RubyC then maybe not for you
