Hannah

Fimbo · 06/10/2008 23:41

My order would be
Imogen
Hannah
Laura
Naomi

feedthegoat · 06/10/2008 23:45

My fave is Imogen

Plonker · 06/10/2008 23:45

Imogen - Lovely. Pretty and under-used (in these parts anyway).
Naomi - Really and inexplicably dislike this name.
Hannah - Classic and timeless. Lovely.
Laura - Hmmm, i don't dislike this, but its a little ...ordinary.

Niecie · 06/10/2008 23:49

Imogen - classy.

Well, they are all classy but Imogen is the classiest.

BrownSuga · 06/10/2008 23:59

Laura and Hannah, don't rate the other two

fizzpops · 07/10/2008 07:01

Really like Imogen but is a bit of a mouthful when said with Sam... but then thinking about it anything would with Sam being said first. 'Sam and X'.

So:

Imogen
Laura
Hannah
Naomi

Another vote for Hannah. When i was pregnant and expecting a DD we chose Hannah until we changed our minds when I was 6 months pregnant when my husband out of the blue on holiday in the maldives suggested Caitlin. It suddenly clicked that that was 'the name' and Caitlin Sophie is now 13 months. Still love Hannah though, though hate people shortening it to Han. Only other name on your list I like is Laura.

Aliensloveunderpants · 07/10/2008 09:31

Love Imogen, it's meaning is something like "her mother's image" which is lovely.

Second fav is Hannah.

LurkerOfTheUniverse · 07/10/2008 09:32

god, a baby name thread with actual nice names on it

Hannah
Imogen
Naomi
Laura

Lauren nicer than Laura

bamboostalks · 07/10/2008 09:32

Naomi is my favourite, they are always clever girls ime.

LurkerOfTheUniverse · 07/10/2008 09:33

bamboostalks so true!

i speak from experience

Cies · 07/10/2008 09:34

I have an aversion to Naomi because of a horrible girl at primary school. But objectively it is a very pretty.

My personal order would be:
Imogen
Laura (although a little ordinary maybe?)
Hannah
Naomi.

Have you considered Lorna?

Buda · 07/10/2008 09:41

Laura - DS was going to be Laura.

Also love Imogen but DH didn't like it.

Never overly keen on Hannah - know lots of them though.

Naomi is nice.

snackattack · 07/10/2008 09:46

Imogen - lovely
Laura - ok but prefer Lauren
Hannah - bit boring to me
Naomi - hate it, sorry (don't have a clue why)

LurkerOfTheUniverse · 07/10/2008 09:48

Naomi Campbell

Liffey · 07/10/2008 12:08

Imogen, ok, but don't love it. Very 'now'. Will sound dated in 20 yrs.

Laura, very pretty but a bit meek and mild... Laurel a bit more interesting.
Hannah - I prefer Anna for some reason, take away the Hs and you get a prettier slightly less overused name.

Naomi, I really like this one.

Remotew · 07/10/2008 12:10

I favour Naomi. I know a very lovely, clever girl with this name .

Cadmum · 07/10/2008 12:12

Hannah

Followed by
Imogen
Laura
Naomi

in that order.

scorpio1 · 07/10/2008 12:14

Hannah
Imogen
Laura (Lauren?)
Naomi

in that order

HorseStories · 07/10/2008 12:19

I know of a brother and sister called Hannah and Sam. I also like Imogen. Not so keen on Naomi or Laura.

MaryMungo · 07/10/2008 12:31

I'd hesitate over Hannah, as that was Samuels' Mum's name in the bible and it would make me feel odd. Naomi is very nice.

motherinferior · 07/10/2008 12:35

I have an utterly adorable Naomi. I think the world needs more Naomis.

LouLou99 · 07/10/2008 12:45

Yes, I love Imogen but not sure it goes so well with surname, turns into a bit of a mouthful. Also worried re shortening (others are not so easy to shorten).
The Hannah being Samuel's mum in the Bible thing had occured to me too, but I thought I was the only one who'd worry about this!
From reading the posts, it seems that Naomi is a name people either love, or hate. It means pleasant though, which i think is really nice.
