What do you think of these names? Are they dated? Or still ok today? Baby due next week and we are starting to panic as stillnot sure of a name. Have a Charlotte and Molly already.

Dh has come up with these so at least he is trying now. Only others we have on list are Lucy or Harriet.

Please any thoughts or suggestions.

Of the 4, Natasha.
Lucy is nice, only know 1 (though is popular i believe). Know of loads of Harriets.
Don't panic, it took us 7 weeks to name DD2!

I love all of them

Talia is one of my all time faves and my own name is very similar to the second one on your list

AtheneNoctua · 25/09/2008 15:05

Natasha

or, what about Natalie?

RubySlippers · 25/09/2008 15:06

yes, Natalie

EdwardCullenCanHaveMySoul · 25/09/2008 15:08

I love Talia, but Natalia would give her a 'High Court Judge' name as I call them, incase!

funkydude · 25/09/2008 19:52

I have a Talia, she's 5 and has just started school and gets so many lovely comments about her name. (She is Natalia on her birth certificate for if she prefers to use that when she is older).

bodiddly · 25/09/2008 19:53

I like Natalia shortened to Talia or Lia

BlueChampagne · 25/09/2008 20:25

I like them all, and I like Lucy too.

micku5 · 25/09/2008 20:29

Talia only because I am biased its dd2's name.

cafebistro · 25/09/2008 20:30

I like all the names. My DD was nearly Lucie.

sweetkitty · 25/09/2008 20:38

Another mum of a Talia, it'a a lovely name we get loads of comments about it.

micku5 - my DD2 too

dizzydixies · 25/09/2008 20:42

love Natalia shortened to Talia

sweetkitty · 25/09/2008 20:48

nah don't shorten it Talia is a completely different name to Natalia, Talia is Hebrew meaning Dew from Heaven, Natalia is Russian I think linked to Christmas although I'm probably wa wrong.

waves back at dizzy wondering why we are still on baby names threads

dizzydixies · 25/09/2008 20:50

for the twins kitty, for the twins

PootleAndThePoseysMum · 25/09/2008 20:54

Tara is lovely (I have a Tara - I also have a Lucy too)

dinkymum · 25/09/2008 21:19

I like Talia best

funkydude · 25/09/2008 21:21

Natalia is a latin name, widely used in Europe, and means birthday of the lord, hence meaning 'new life'. Among the names diminutes are Talia and Tally.

funkydude · 25/09/2008 21:22

Oops ... diminutives ...

EachPeachPearMum · 25/09/2008 22:30

Isn't 'Talia' spelled Thalia?

nappyaddict · 26/09/2008 00:52

Natalia

nappyaddict · 26/09/2008 00:53

talia, talya and tahlia are all correct spellings.

nappyaddict · 26/09/2008 00:54

and thalia

nappyaddict · 26/09/2008 00:56

oh and you can spell it natalia, natalya, nataliya and nathalia.

sweetkitty · 26/09/2008 08:07

The thing is some people will pronouce Talia Tal-Ya (suppose it would be the same Na-Tal-Ya) instead of Tah-LEE-ah which annoys me (my Dad is the worst and my Talia is over 2 now)

I have seen the spellings Talia, Tahlia and Thalia we decided on the easiest spelling saves people trying to put H's everywhere an anywhere. It's the feminine form of Tal an old Hebrew name not just a shortening of Natalia.

AbbeyA · 26/09/2008 08:14

Your reserve list of Harriet and Lucy are much nicer.
