What do you think of these names? Are they dated? Or still ok today? Baby due next week and we are starting to panic as stillnot sure of a name. Have a Charlotte and Molly already.

Dh has come up with these so at least he is trying now. Only others we have on list are Lucy or Harriet.

Please any thoughts or suggestions.

Lucy is the nicest IMO.

Jennyusedtobepink · 26/09/2008 11:37

Natasha and Natalia were on our short list too. Lovely names. I like Lucy as well.

branflake81 · 26/09/2008 12:22

I like Natasha. Not too keen on the others.

devonsmummy · 26/09/2008 12:42

Personally like Talia best, but think Lucy fits best with your DD's names

amazonianadventure · 26/09/2008 12:59

I have a dd natasha!

frazzledoldbag34 · 26/09/2008 13:52

Natasha is lovely.
Tara is also really nice.
Not keen on the others tho.
I think Natasha would 'fit' nicely with your other DC's names.
Good luck!

My niece's name is Tahlia - it's a beautiful name. It's greek for blossoming.

Fimbo · 26/09/2008 14:38

I like Harriet and Lucy. Also like Alice which would go well with your other names.

The Greek word is actually pronounced Th-alia - rhyming, unfortunately, with Failure! One of the Muses, or Graces, or something else mythological. I think the "proper" spelling is Thalia.

How about Thea? I think that's a lovely name.

Eleta · 26/09/2008 18:45

The Greek name Thalia is a differant name, one of the three Graces. Talia is Hebrew and means 'gentle dew from heaven'

Eeeek! I won't tell my sister that she got that one wrong! Oh well, I still think Tahlia is a beautiful name

I know! I'll go home! Back to Tara!!

Not a good name IMO.

I had a friend called Natalia, but it was
Nah-tal-ee-ya not nat-ar-lee-ya, so we called her tall-ee-ya for her nickname rather than tar-lee-ya which is how Thalia is pronounced, I think.

I personally much prefer Lucy or Harriet.

dannyb · 02/10/2008 21:21

Talia pronounced Ta - lee - a not Tah- lee - a. It's a very popular israeli name and I love it.

FreakyLadyFrightALot · 02/10/2008 21:32

love them all

if I had to pick one I like best...
Tara

MrsMattie · 04/10/2008 10:24

Talia / Thalia or Tara are my favourites from this list.

I think Natalie and Natasha sound quite 1970/80s.

Lucy - cutesy, twee.
Harriet - I know it's popular again, but I can't stand it. It's just an ugly word to my ears. And also find these 'retro' nicknames like Hattie / Betsy / Milly / Tilly a bit pukesome.

There, honest answer!
