Kitty is on our shortlist.
Only, though I love Kitty, I'm not sure if it is more of a nickname than a 'proper' name.
What do you think?
Neither of us LOVE Katherine which I guess is the obvious long version. Anything else that Kitty can be short for?

Kitty - Love it. There's a lovely Seth Lakeman song - Kitty Jay- if you like mad violin playing (It's on my list too)

We have a 3 year old Kitty who is just Kitty. I LOVE the name. If she thinks it is too girly when she is older she can shorten it to Kit. I don't think Kitty is any more girly than a name like Lucy or Zoe etc. Our Kitty used to call herself Titty too - in fact still does sometimes as she prefers Titty apparently!!

There's a Pogues song with the name Kitty in as well.

Think it is more of an Irish rebel song, than something actually written by the Pogues, but I used to sing it to dd when she was tiny as it has a line in it

"Kitty my darling".....dum de dum....
