Need help with a girl name!

Hi all,

My husband and I have been struggling with a name for our baby girl. We like classic names especially those that have a meaning behind them. We’ve shortlisted the folllowing - Emma, Grace, Charlotte, Esther and have likely decided to go with Esther. But we are concerned it may sound a little old!

What do you guys think of Esther! What comes to mind when you hear the name?

I think of an ester (chemistry).

It isn't a terrible name, but definitely has a fuddy-duddy or dowdy feel to me, as opposed to tasteful or feminine or pretty.

If you love it, I don't see anything particularly wrong with it.

Not a fan of Esther. Makes me think of Estrella and Estelle.

But what matters is what you like.

I like it. I wouldn't associate it with esters unless it was Polly's middle name.
I like Polly too, just not the two names together.
