What does everyone think of Poppy?
is it likely to date badly?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Good only for a dog IMO

ShetlandishMum · 26/08/2026 21:26

It's dated and better for a dog.

NamingNoNames · 26/08/2026 21:36

It's in the top 10 most popular names for girls. No 35 in Scotland (in between Mia and Sienna).

I knew a dog named Poppy. Have never met a human Poppy. It’s very twee. I feel it’s similar to Lily, Rosie, Maisie, all of which I dislike.

TheActualDuck · 26/08/2026 22:13

I’ve always thought it’s a happy and positive sounding name, I really like it.

RemindMeIn15Minutes · 26/08/2026 22:21

I like it!

Crispynoodle · 26/08/2026 23:38

My new DGD is a Poppy and I love it

LittleRobins · 04/09/2026 15:28

I like it but do admit I think it’s more of a dogs name

Hollyhobbi · 04/09/2026 15:33

Our cat is Poppy!

WonderWeeksArentReal · 04/09/2026 15:44

I don't think it will date badly as I know several Poppys of wildly different ages.

For me personally it's a bit cutesy.

clarrylove · 04/09/2026 15:50

Too cutesy for me. The one I know is always cashed Pops or Popstar.

I do like Polly though.

Love it- we nearly called DD this.
