I love the name Tabitha Wren. Honest opinions please

Pretty name, flows well.

I find it very twee because I associate one name with a bird and the other with cats, so two 'animal' names. I don't 'get' using Wren as a girls' name at all, and Tabitha will always be a cat name to me. Tabitha Twitchett from Beatrix Potter, and I called my first ever cat Tabitha because of that.

That said, it flows fine and it's cute if you like that sort of thing. It's just not my style but nothing wrong with it if you love it.

Tabitha is lovely. Wren just makes me think of fitted kitchens

I think it's lovely. Tabby not so much but you can try hard to resist it and always call her Tabitha at home.

I like Tabitha. Wren is bit cutesy for my taste and a bit Beatrix Potter teamed with Tabitha.

It's not for me but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be for you. I don't hate it, I just wouldn't use it myself. I think for two reasons, there were sisters who lived near me when I was little called Tabitha and Catherine who were inevitably known as Tabby and Catty (and who were scary girls!), and also for me it sounds like a Beatrix Potter character. But this is just me.

Sounds like the name of a ‘new girl’ in one of the Mallory Towers books…or a new animal character in Winnie The Pooh 😬

Too similar to Tabitha Webb handbags and nn will inevitably be Tabby which is basically giving your kid a popular cat name.

Each to their own though but not one I would choose.

Not too common or rare, interesting enough without being wacky. Shortening options that suit different ages- Tabby, Tabs. It’s good.

Wren seems to be a common middle name here in recent years. I personally don't like Tabitha as to me it sounds harsh with those consonants. Are you touched by the miracle healing story? You should choose whatever name you like and not choose based on what strangers tell you.

Nothing wrong with Beatrix Potter vibes - some great names there that people don't avoid because of some charming children's books: Peter, Benjamin, Cecily, Samuel, Jemima. And it isn't as if you are calling her Flopsy.

I guess the one observation might be because Wren is a bird name it could sound a bit like a Wren called Tabitha ( Tabitha Wren and Peter Rabbit).

BUT I don't actually think that matters when it is only a middle name. I wouldn't suggest hyphenating Tabitha-Wren!

I think it's nice. Nothing offensive or horrible about it. And the important thing is you and your partner like it .

And when you see them two together, it is normally in the context of a full name, eg Tabitha Wren Henderson so the Beatrix Potter thing drops away.

Why?I know a 50 year old Tabitha in a serious job, it suits her. Wren would be a middle name and might not be used much but I think it's pretty and pairs well with Tabitha.
Btw the Tabitha i know has never been known as Tabby she is either Tabs or Tabitha

Personally I prefer Talitha to Tabitha and Tally/Talia are nicer shortenings than Tabby too

Sorry, not keen on either of them. I know some people like Wren as a name but I don’t, to me it’s like calling a baby Sparrow or Starling.

Sparrow is actually cute!
