What are your thoughts on this name? It is top of my list but DH is taking some persuading. He thinks it is already too popular

any other suggestions?

Love it. Timeless, strong and I also like Frankie as a nn.

notatinydancer · 12/07/2026 20:36

Really cute. I know one.

Firebird83 · 12/07/2026 21:17

I like it but would use Francis “Frank”

Putyourfeckingsockson · 12/07/2026 21:40

I have a 10 year old Frank (Francis). I get so many compliments on it!

user1492757084 · 13/07/2026 06:21

It's fine.
Your DH doesn't like it though.

thereisnomeaning · 13/07/2026 06:24

As a short for Francis, fine.

Namiemcnameface · 13/07/2026 09:35

Can imagine it would actually be super cute on a little kid, and grow with them as well.

Would use Frank on the birth certificate. I didn't know it was linked to Francis till i read this thread. Not a fan of Francis.

StuntNun · 13/07/2026 09:37

That’s such a cool name!

ProfessionallyTired · 13/07/2026 13:28

Love it! I have a Franklyn - his nicknames are Frank / Franks / Frankie

cheapskatemum · 13/07/2026 14:23

Love it because I had a lovely uncle called Frank.

Mamabear487 · 13/07/2026 14:24

We have a Franky. I really wasn’t keen on the name when I was pregnant and he had no name for a couple of days. I always hated the idea of him being called Frank and it sounded old. Now that’s mostly what we call him and it suits him so much and it’s such a strong name.

WonderWeeksArentReal · 13/07/2026 14:24

I like it. And I don't know any at all in our area, so it can't be super popular.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 13/07/2026 14:31

My grandad’s name. His first name was Francis but he was always called Frank. Lovely classic name.

Love Franklyn!

RaraRachael · 13/07/2026 15:22

Love it as it was my dad's name. Never came across one in 40 years of teaching.

Definitely due for a revival.

Jk987 · 13/07/2026 15:26

Love it

I have a baby grandson Frankie. Franks x

RecorderOrder · 13/07/2026 15:43

I have an 18 year old Frank, I loved it as he was literally the only baby Frank I knew (named after his grandad). Seems to be way more Franks around now so selfishly I say call him something else ;-)

Rothburypixie · 13/07/2026 15:43

Frank is lovely, prefer it to Francis and would just go for Frank if that’s what you will mainly call him.

Norberta · 13/07/2026 15:45

I love it. It’s timeless but cool without being pretentious. Works if you’re posh or not posh personally I like the full name Francis as i think it’s quite elegant? But just Frank is also great

Trallers · 13/07/2026 15:47

Love it, but not so keen on Francis so I'd go for standalone Frank!

Hippityhoppitydoodah · 13/07/2026 15:50

Is it really popular now? I have one (5) after my Grandad and only met one older girl and one young boy called it so far! Guess it’s due a revival as part of the grandparent name trend though :)

StationJack · 13/07/2026 16:31

Baby name explorer - Frank

Slightly more popular in 2025 (#186)

Frankie is more popular.

My grandad was never ever called Francis, maybe when he was younger.

His brother Fred was always called Fred or Freddie, never Frederick.
