trendy or pretty?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Poonu · 30/05/2026 14:57

Nope

LarksAscending · 30/05/2026 15:00

I love it

It would take me a lot more than a year to get over it, like a lifetime!

I don't like season, weather, place, action or object names anyway.

this is the first time I've heard of it being used as a first/second name.

There are several TV shows that have Blooms as a main character. Some of them decades old. It literally means flower why are you so aghast?

Lostdaughter66 · 30/05/2026 15:13

Im sorry to me it’s the name of a juice company - my son works for them part time in the holidays.

what TV shows are they?

it does not 'literally mean flower'

it means TO flower or flourish.

id be aghast at my son or daughter saddling their daughter with such a stupid name.

what next 'walk' 'run' 'cycle' ??

Theimpossiblegirl · 30/05/2026 15:15

Blossom would be more name like.

Peanutlicious · 30/05/2026 15:24

Makes me think of Sheila Bloom from Friday Night Dinner. Sorry op, not a fan

JustGiveMeReason · 30/05/2026 15:37

No. Just no.

ClaudiaCasswell · 30/05/2026 15:39

muddyford · 30/05/2026 15:43

Sorry it sounds like a euphemism for getting your period. See also Blossom.

Nahhhh it doesn’t.

It’s cute. I know a little Bloom, it suits her very well.

VaultandSinagain · 30/05/2026 17:44

It’s completely fine. I might assume it was a heritage surname being used as a middle name, though.

Electricsausages · 30/05/2026 18:12

No
how would you feel when asked your full name for something and that’s your middle name
kids grow up you know

NamingNoNames · 30/05/2026 20:49

@Electricsausages , it didn't do Orlando any harm.
It could be a family surname used as a middle name.

That's his surname, not a chosen name.

Buscobel · 31/05/2026 10:22

& Wild?

thinkingaboutipswich · 31/05/2026 10:24

I thought it was kind of cute but then I remembered my friend whose surname is Bloom and we used to call her “Bloomers”

thinkingaboutipswich · 31/05/2026 10:25

What about Plume? That means feather in French.

Yes, but if it was an unfortunate surname he could have used a stage name.
If he or another Mr Bloom had a child with someone and they named the baby Noah/Amelia Bloom Jones or something it would be OK.

RS1987 · 31/05/2026 11:32

I like it!

It means both… you can bloom or a single flower can be referred to as ‘a bloom’.

Winx Club is the one most people will know (the original aired in 2004.

During its first season in 2004, the series became one of the highest-rated programs on Rai 2 with an average audience share of 17%. Among viewers 4–14 years old, the average share was 45%.

this hardly makes it a 'top show' for adults & if that's the best known one you can think of I don't see why the name would be well known.

I'm not interested in arguing either point with you.

My opinion is that it's a ridiculous name for a child. We don't have to agree 🌷
