Marina
Lily
Carina
Alanna
Alyssa

others too dated, but Lisa would be nice if its not so much dated.

Besidemyselfwithworry · 17/05/2026 13:29

My favourite on your list is Annie.

StationJack · 17/05/2026 13:59

Why so many? Why have you only made one previous post?
There's quite a mixture of names there.

LoudPlumDog · 17/05/2026 14:00

Love …

Cara
Lily
Annie

WaitingForMojo · 17/05/2026 14:06

The only ones I like are Annie and Libby. Maybe Callie but it is too easily misheard as Kelly.

Blushingm · 17/05/2026 14:13

Corrine?

Latinglow · 17/05/2026 14:18

Love josie and Catherine.

What prompted such a strange reply? I change my username quite frequently as many people do, partly because I don't want to be recognised by anyone I know irl, and partly because there are some very odd people on here who like to obsessively search people's previous posts in order to try and find something to have a go at them about......
I'm thinking about a lot of different names because I want to choose the right one. Is there a maximum number of names I should be allowed to consider?

Corrine?

That's pretty, thankyou.

Because I wouldn't want to wade through the names giving my opinion if you were not a regular MNer. The names sort of look similar but they're not.

Lisa will always just be from the simpsons to me. Is Lissa pronounced the same

I was thinking of Lissa as more pronounced with an IH sound in the middle rather than an EE like Lisa, I don't know if that quite makes sense? 😅

I asked because when I looked at the OP's other posts there was only one made today. Nothing wrong with that.
I checked because sometimes there are posters who start multiple threads then vanish.
There are sometimes posters who are asking about names when they have already named their child and they get dozens of replies saying how bad the name is.
If you don't like what I posted, scroll on by.

Lots of nice names there, OP. Although I always think Callie is a bit of a 'non-name' - like it should be short for something. Having said that, I love Marnie (which is kind of a combination of some of your choices) and sounds like a 'proper' name.

It’s not that I don’t like it I’m just curious why the paranoia ? what ulterior motive could someone have for asking whether Lisa or Catherine is a better name for their child?

Marnie makes me think of my mother calling sandwiches sarnies.
Not sure if that’s just a thing that she said though

Latinglow · 17/05/2026 15:03

Marmite sarnies became marnies

Twoshoesnewshoes · 17/05/2026 15:09

Of course. Pick one of the top 10 from the latest ONS baby girl names and add Rose, May or Grace as a middle name. Job done.Smile
Cara - like
Carrie - ok if short for Caroline
Callie - ok if short for Caroline
Cassie - like
Catherine - like. Classic
Catrina- don't like
Carina - seems a bit cold
Marina - seems a bit cold
Martina - too much like Martin
Maria - like, classic
Marissa - not sure
Josie - nice if short for Josephine
Annie - like
Alanna - not keen. People will say it as Alana
Alina - don't like
Alyssa - not sure, don't dislike it
Lissa - no
Lisa - yes
Libby - not keen
Lily - nice but very popular for years

@Harmony10 If you like Lissa, how about Melissa? It's lovely apart from it might be shortened to Mel.

@Latinglow , not paranoia but if it was a baby regret in disguise I wouldn't want to say something like 'yuk no, Bojo's wife's name' or something as it might add to the OP's anxiety.

He's been married to a Carrie and a Marina, but Allegra isn't on OP's list. Nice name.

How odd. Don't worry, you are under no obligation to share your opinions, the thread wasn't addressed to you personally. 😅

Callie is lovely. I know one little Callie and it really suits her.

Harmony10 · 17/05/2026 15:15

I do like Melissa but I feel like it might be a bit 80s/90s.
