I'm so close to choosing this name for our upcoming DD.
I love the meaning, I love the flower, I love the song! But I can't quite settle on it.
I've seen some comments where people say it's too popular but I've never met one. It seems to be around 60 in the charts which is fine to me.

Any thoughts? Anyone with an Iris? Does it get nicknames? The sound feels quite unusual to me, I think it's because it ends in an S and I'm used to names ending in a y or an a!

My little girls middle name is Iris. It goes beautifully with her first name. I’m currently pregnant with our second child and I wish I had kept Iris for their name, If it’s a girl.

I’ve never met another child called Iris. It’s a beautiful name, hence my username too 😂

Whilst lovely I have to confirm that it's pretty popular here in home counties....feel like they're all here maybe?!
2 form entry primary and there's 4 Iris' now, 2 in Yr R.

I don’t know anyone called Iris. Sounds fine to me.

I wanted to call DD2 Iris but DH was less keen. DD2 (in her teens) says she would like to have been called Iris, although she likes her own name too.
There are a few around but it's definitely not excessively used. I guess it depends where you live.
