Which do you prefer or do you think it doesn't matter?

Hannah. No questions.

laura032004 · 21/06/2008 07:24

Hannah, or she'll go through life having to spell her name out for people. Although it's probably one of those names that people would spell wrong anyway. We loved Hannah, but decided on Anna for a girl in the end. As we've had 2 DS's, it was never used.

treacletart · 21/06/2008 07:24

Hannah, I like names spelt correctly - I think variations look like you're trying too hard to be different and she'll spend her life having to spell it for people - Hannah is also lovely because its the same backwards would go well with Ava!

geordieminx · 21/06/2008 07:28

Hannah - no question. There is nothing worse than changing the spelling of a name to appear "different" or "trendy".

JulesJules · 21/06/2008 07:29

Hannah

PuppyMonkey · 21/06/2008 07:30

Although round where I live it just gets pronounced Anna.

Tommy · 21/06/2008 08:11

I have a Hannah and people always spell it right, never any problems. I really wouldn't spell it any other way though - everyone assumes it's spelled 'Hannah'.

sunshineonarainyday · 21/06/2008 08:21

Hannah definitely

hoxtonchick · 21/06/2008 08:22

Hana is the japanese form the name, & a friend & his japanese wife have called their little girl this. which is perfect. but i'd go for hannah if you're not japanese/have links there. imo.

geekgirl · 21/06/2008 08:23

(oh, and she's terribly pleased that her name is a palindrome )

possiblymaybe · 21/06/2008 08:55

My dd's name is Hanna and it is spelled correctly. It is a Polish version of 'Hannah'.

It's also got a lovely pet version 'Hania'which I use to call my dd.

AbbeyA · 21/06/2008 08:58

Definitely Hannah.

greenelizabeth · 21/06/2008 14:17

Hanne
the German variety

laurz75 · 21/06/2008 15:15

Hannah definitely. We were going to call our first baby this but he turned out to be a boy!

Nancy66 · 21/06/2008 15:53

Hannah - lovely name. However be prepared to be forever flinching when people drop the H and call her 'anna.

As my side of the family are east enders - it's not an option for me !

colander · 21/06/2008 15:56

Hannah.

Otherwise all her future teachers will assume you are illiterate.

Also, DD1's middle name so I love it anyway.

LobstersLass · 21/06/2008 17:37

Hannah.
Unless you are German or Scandinavian.

Bucharest · 21/06/2008 17:38

What LobstersLass said.
Totally.
