Which do you prefer or do you think it doesn't matter?

actually, I'm German and it would have never occured to me to name dd1 anything other than Hannah. Perfectly normal name in Germany, too.
Don't think 'Hanne' is the same.

or if you have arabic connections then Hanna, it seems to be the way a ot of them spell it when writing it in English.

My friend, just named her DD Hana - it is an Arabic name (and Japanese and various other cultures too, I think).

My friends name is more or less the same - just the first letter different, so they rhyme.

Hannah.

Hannah, unless you have any strong connections with a country or culture that spells it differently.

Hannah, unless you have good reason to use a different spelling - like the poster whose mother is Polish or something.

OldBint · 25/06/2008 14:24

I know a few "Hana"'s, but that is due to Japanese. I think it is seen (IME, anyway)as a very good "crossover" name for children of mixed Japanese/English parentage - means flower in Japanese.

So I would not necessarily assume you were illiterate
