I really like the name Tracey for a boy...but could never use it not on the UK anyway

I used the (extremely unusual) name I wanted to. I don’t think I really have a concept of ‘names you love but can’t use’.

And a name from my husbands heritage which just wouldn’t work in English and too awkward to pronounce.

I really like the name Bethan but I have a relative with that name and I wouldn’t want people to think I was naming my baby after her.

I loved Clementine but just couldn't imagine calling it out in the park so went with something I'd never even considered but that's perfect and can't believe it wasn't on my radar

I love Ocean or Lake for a boy, and Rain for a girl.

We both loved Basil as a royal-sounding name but didn't use it, and I'm glad. I think people would think it's a bit ridiculous

It’s a lovely name, but the Basil Fawlty/Basil Brush associations are still too stromg imo!

I had never heard about the site before but I just looked up my daughter's name on it and there were several egregious errors on that one page alone.

@EmeraldSlippers , I tried it on a popular classic girl's name (top 100 since the 1980s) and it gave the wrong meaning.
