Love Juliet.
Prefer Anna over Annie.
Like Maggie.
Elizabeth is classic with lots of shortening options if nicknames are a consideration for you.
Eve and Zoe are inoffensive, boring.

Juliet Elizabeth would be gorgeous as first/middle names.

Elizabeth is a classic and can have many different alternatives / nicknames
Zoe is a bit blah
Maggie is a nickname rather than a standalone name
Juliet is quite pretty, but often “Jules” is used as a nickname, which I dislike
Anna is much nicer than Annie
Eve is lovely but very overused

Not sure how to rank them but

  1. Annie - like. Would probably put Ann on the birth certificate.
  2. Elizabeth - long will be shortened. I don't like most of the diminutives. My favourite otherwise
  3. Zoe - like. Nice and short.
  4. Maggie - like if short for Margaret.
  5. Eve - like but Evie far too popular
  6. Juliet - like but not when said as Juliette
Ohcrap082024 · 08/04/2026 19:55

Juliet would be top
Eve
Elizabeth
Annie
Zoe
Maggie

curlyfriess · 08/04/2026 20:32

I love Maggie - not Margaret though, that is hideous.
Next Zoe, short and snappy or Annie, pretty but not too overused. Not keen on Ann.
Elizabeth is fine but feels overdone.
Eve just makes me think Adam and Eve.
Juliet is too prissy for me.

Nursemumma92 · 08/04/2026 21:04

Juliet by far my favourite.
Elizabeth also very beautiful

Maggie is nice, though Margaret is awful.
Eve and Zoe both nice.

Annie I’m not keen on, though I’m not really sure why.

pilates · 08/04/2026 21:53

Potentially outing but I have an Elizabeth and a Juliet. I love their names. I don't like Jules as a nickname but discovered (from Mumsnet!) Jet / Jettie as a nickname which I love. My tips if you go with these names - decide on a nickname for Elizabeth when young (still working this out, she had a silly nickname but now she is older she doesn't like it) and make peace with people misspelling Juliet as Juliette.

TheLette · 08/04/2026 22:29

Oh and if I had a third daughter, my pick is Zoe. Are you me?! Haha. I also love Annie. All good classic names which everyone knows but are not too commonly used these days.

user1492757084 · 09/04/2026 01:39

Elizabeth 10
Zoe 9
Annie 8
Maggie 7
Eve and Juliet 6

All nice, non offensive, names.

The popularity of Evie makes me score Eve lower.
My preference for Julia makes me list Juliet lower.

CurlewKate · 09/04/2026 07:08

Elisabeth is lovely-lots of good shortenings and unusual. I love Juliet but I’d be put off by pronunciation issues.

Steelworks · 09/04/2026 07:12

Elizabeth - lovely,
Zoe - quite like
Maggie - not keen
Juliet - not bad
Annie - like
Eve - okay, has been really popular recently.

Sorry, not much help, and haven’t ranked them

LastHotel · 09/04/2026 07:13

Zoe and Elizabeth are strong favourites.
The others are mainly diminutives and just not strong.
ie, Julia is stronger than Juliet.
Margaret is stronger than Maggie.
Anna is stronger than Annie.
Eve is bland these days.

Love Jet as a nn for Juliet. Not heard that before.

LlynTegid · 09/04/2026 07:14

Maggie I would avoid, instant thought for many would be Mrs Thatcher. Annie I'm not sure about.

Others seem fine to me, preferences would depend on surname and other family names.
