I'm pregnant and I LOVE the name Malcolm. I think its cool and added bonus that its Scottish. My husband and everyone hates Malcolm however. I may still use it.

Any suggestions for like wise names (not Hamish) or good Scottish names? Duncan, Rory and Andrew have been ruled out by husband.

My daughter is Isla.

I really liked Leith (pronounced Layth) for a boy since hearing it on Reign, so I think it's Scottish!

Maybe OP will come back and let us know what she thinks?

I really like Malcolm too! Malc or Malky/Malcy (sp?) make cute nicknames. I think it's due a comeback, you're just ahead of the curve 😁

Hamish would have been on my list but SIL used it for her dog hah. I’m Scottish, I like Malcolm and Duncan, both strong names, though I don’t like the shortened “dunc “ and Malcy is less appealing. Maybe your husband will come around, mind did to some of his previous vetos.

ive seen callum come up a few times, it’s a good name, also Cameron is a good name, first boy I ever “fancied” though I wasn’t sure what fancying was, I liked that he had a grey tooth and asthma

Laith is an Arabic name. Leith is 'Leeth'.

Archie - I am biased as it’s my DS’s name. But it’s definitely a Scottish name.

Mackenzie/Mckenzie
Dont be put off by girls having the name because it literally means SON of the Fair One.

Ruaridh is nice but be prepared for various spellings and mis-spellings.
Iain seems a bit dated.

My favourites are Murray, Glen and Lewis.
