I had the same thought about a Jessie/Jeremy compromise.

Yes, I was being snarky back to a poster who said:

Plenty of us have come across this lovely name. It is not a "trashy mash up".

But t does sound like a trashy mash up, which is what the poster said.

Well, a) that would be a mean thing to say to someone, and b) it isn't a "trashy mashup", and calling it that says more about the PP than the OP.

It sounds like the perfect name for an intersex child (if there is such a thing!)

There's a woman on Hollyoaks called Jessamy (plays liberty) if never heard it before until her and I thought it was unusual but in a nice way

I like it, but have an interest in names so am aware of the name. Definitely doesnt seem made up to me

So do many awful sounding names, and regardless, it still sounds like a mix up of Jessica and Jeremy.

I went to school with a Jessamy. Her family were very wannabe upper class. They'd have conniptions at the thought of being Youneek or American made-up.

I don't think I'd use the name myself but it's not horrendous.

OP I didn’t like it at the start of this thread, but I’ve kind of got used to it. As will most people, and people will learn to pronounce it properly once they have used it a couple of times.

I went to school with a Jessamy. She was a lovely, cool, popular girl so that is what I think of when I hear the name.

I absolutely love Jessamine. I think if we’d had a DD2 it definitely would have been on the list.

Can I suggest Jesslyn as a possible contender OP? It’s a character in one of my favourite books and I’ve always thought it quite pretty.
