Love it. But does it just blend in with the ridiculously popular Olivia? Thoughts?

I had an auntie Olive who constantly looked as if she was sucking lemons so I'm biased

To me, Olive is too like Olivia, and Olivia is over popular.
I dislike the Olive Oil connection.

Other ideas..
Hazel
Olleander
Isolde
Isotta
Odessa
Quilla
Oprah
Ottilie
Odile
Adele

Well guys, I feel like Olive is possibly the most marmite name in the world.

But my question has been answered- people seem to love Olivia but hate Olive. Two very names with two very different vibes!

Love it and wanted to use it but alas no girls here. I would have used Oli as a nickname.

It’s cute

Oli pronounced Ollie?

TealSapphire · 12/01/2026 08:48

Yes, said like Ollie. I think it's cute 😍

Yes, I like Oli too.
And Liv/Livvy, but that absolutely does blend in with the Olivia's.

❤️ Olive.

Team awful. Try Olave or Olivette.

Yeah grape or raisin is a good analogy.

TBH I think it has become popular because of the push toward using olive oil to cook with, so people think of it as a sort of hip, "Wholefoods Supermarket" kind of name. Like Quinoa, or Amaranth, which I wouldn't like on a child either - though confidently predict the day is only round the corner when I meet a little Kale.

I know an Amaranthe as it happens. Not met a Quinoa yet

The most awful name out there.
