Which would you choose from our final Top 2?

Baby is nearly here and we don't know if it's a boy or a girl. This is our third. Our older two don't have any kind of theme in their names and neither name is in the Top 100 for the UK - not that that's a requirement this time!

Our top choice for a girl are Nancy and Celeste.

For a boy, it's Rudy and Lucien.

What are your thoughts? Which would you choose?

I hate Rudy (Rude-y is a fart) or the long form Rudolph

All four names are gorgeous!!! But if I had to choose I'd say Nancy and Lucien

Nancy. I dislike both of the boy names. Those names make me think of rude and Lucifer.

We have a Rudi in the family, also born close to Christmas, and I love it. However sadly he has been teased about it sounding like rude. We've spent quite a bit of time making him feel confident about it and practicing shrugging off negative opinions. Kids will usually find something to tease you about if they're determined enough.

Noone seems to associate it with Rudolf to be fair, and he loves hearing his name in Rudi the red nosed reindeer.

I'd go for Celeste rather than Nancy. Not that I'm q huge fan of Celeste as a name but Nancy has the same associations of Frumpy-Old-Lady for me as names like Mildred or Gertrude.

Rudy and Lucien are equally good im my view. If it's a boy I'd wait and see what he looks like once he's a day old and pick the one that suits him best at that point. Lucien seems more like an intellectual thinker and Rudy sounds like a rough-and-tumble sporty person but you'll not know which of those he is till he's quite a bit older!

Nancy or Rudy. Lucian reminds me of the annoying boy in Enid Blyton Ship of Adventure

Nancy is lovely, the boys names are just not my cup of tea so I'd struggle to choose between them.

Lucien is honestly one of my least favourite names. Makes me think of the devil, or the bully of a kids tv show from the 00s. It sounds horrible.

Rudy just sounds like rude. We use it all the time to say things to the kids like “are you being a rudey nudey” when they’re playing around after a bath.

Such weird try hard names to choose.

Nancy for the girl’s name, Celeste sounds a bit “posh” and Selly as a possible nickname isn’t great.

Boy’s name - I work in a primary school, I can see Rudy being teased for being “rude” and Lucien lends itself to the nickname Lucy I’m afraid, it certainly would among the children I know.
