Thoughts?

Why name her one name when you're going to call her another? Just call her Rory if that's what you want to call her day to day. I thought nicknames kind of 'emerged' rather than coming pre-selected?

Really Like Aurora but really dislike Rory.

I actually prefer feminine names on boys, my boys list is very much full of ‘girly’ and soft names.

It's not dated in England and Wales. It's ranked 24th for boys. Upward trajectory.
Gary on the other hand is 2671st, and Kevin 264th.

Awful. Aurora is just such an ugly sounding name..

Disney princess so a bit common shall we say.

I would pick Lorelei instead!

I don't like the sound either. None of it sounds good.

By "dated" I meant sounds old fashioned - like all those current 4 year olds called Percy or Winston.
They might be popular names but they sound dated.

Rory is a tall, slightly overweight, genial, red haired Scotsman in my mind! Aurora is a lovely name!

Rory is a boys name.

Aurora is lovely why shorten it?
Or go for Audrey if you want something shorter.

Rory is a boys' name to me, and I love it. It's the name of one of my sons, and was very unusual in the UK when we picked it. 'Red king' is the meaning, so for me it doesn't work on a girl at all. Actually, I'd go as far as to say I strongly dislike it on a girl.

Aurora is pretty, though.
