Hiya everyone,
I’m due a baby girl in the next 2 weeks so time is running out! We have a shortlist but I’m just not massively convinced by any or can find a negative to each one! Middle name will be Elizabeth as it’s a family tradition on my side.
Which of the following would you choose? Any other suggestions? Any names you love but didn’t get to use?
Jemima
Georgina
Beatrice
Charlotte
Rebecca
Naomi
Thanks guys! x

Beatrice or Charlotte.

CottonPyjamas · 20/11/2025 21:35

I read them all out loud and Georgina Elizabeth sounded nicest to me, and felt smoother to say.

Lightswitchy · 20/11/2025 21:42

Bigearringsbigsmile · 20/11/2025 21:43

Charlotte
Absolutely lovely

timoteigirl · 20/11/2025 21:49

Absolute NO to Jemima. Naomi is not the prettiest name either. What about Georgiana?

SemmaLina · 20/11/2025 21:53

For once , I like all the names , least favourite is Naomi , but it goes really nicely with Elizabeth
Nicknames
Georgina = Gina , Genie
Rebecca = Rebel , Becca

SemmaLina · 20/11/2025 21:54

And , Rover is a dogs name ! Jemima is not

Georgina, it’s so timeless ❤️

Mandarinaduck · 20/11/2025 22:02

Naomi is lovely, that would be my choice.

Ikeameatballs · 20/11/2025 22:05

Jemima is my favourite followed by Beatrice known as Bea.

I do like Rebecca but there are so many variations of nick names that you’d need to be happy with?

buzzybea25 · 20/11/2025 22:11

I can't see Naomi without having to think I MOAN to spell it. Probably just me though.

I would pick Jemima as gorgeous and definitely not a dog name. 😂

Lju · 20/11/2025 22:16

I have a Jemima. It will be shortened eventually whether you like it or not, she'll go to school or nursery or whatever and make her own friends and relationships and it'll happen even if you always call her by her full name. I'm not a fan of Jem, but I like Mima, so we leaned into that :) always get compliments on how lovely and unusual the name is.

WanderlustMom · 20/11/2025 22:18

Georgina

user2848502016 · 20/11/2025 22:21

I like Charlotte and Rebecca best
Charlotte probably goes better with Elizabeth

Pieceofpurplesky · 20/11/2025 22:24

Naomi Elizabeth is great.
I also like Nora which goes with your names.

Moreteaandchocolate · 20/11/2025 22:25

All are lovely. I would decide based on which name you’re happiest with all the obvious shortenings, as you only get to control that for a while.

From what you say about which shortenings you like , my order would be-

  1. Beatrice - “Bea”
  2. Naomi - doesn’t tend to get shortened - do you mind the different pronunciations?
  3. Georgina - if you like Georgie / Ginny / Gia
  4. Jemima - if you like Jem
  5. Rebecca - if you like Bec /Becky
  6. Charlotte - is a no as you don’t like the shortenings

Beatrice Elizabeth “Bea” gets my vote!

Other ideas - Harriet, Georgia, Matilda, Annabel, Philippa “Pippa”, Imogen “Immy”, Evelyn, Penelope, Abigail, Jessica, Jennifer “Jenny” (wildcard as it’s unusual these days, but I love it!)

Clingfilm · 20/11/2025 22:27

Ooh Jemima is due a revival, do it !

SeaDragon17 · 20/11/2025 22:32

Just to throw in Beatrix in place of Beatrice as it removes the slight hissiness of Beatriss Elissabeth and is a much stronger but still undoubtedly feminine name.

BaileyHorse · 20/11/2025 22:41

I say wait until you see her and then decide. I was convinced of my second daughters name until I saw her then went to another on my list that I felt suited her better. You’ve got a decent list there so am sure it’ll be an easy decision once you’ve had her.

Waitingfordoggo · 20/11/2025 22:59

A great list and obviously all well-liked as you have such a range of positive responses.

Georgina and Beatrice are my favourites from the list and I like the nicknames for both too.

I’d add Harriet for a similar vibe, but might not be your taste.

Maybeitllneverhappen · 20/11/2025 23:00

How about
Rachael Elizabeth
Sarah Elizabeth
Zoë Elizabeth?

Miniatureschnauzers · 20/11/2025 23:01

@TiddlyToucan love your names! I think Jem is a really cute shortening for Jemima.

i also love gender neutral names, like George for Georgina.

I was thinking recently I wish I’d called my daughter Gabriella! Gabriella Elizabeth is quite nice and could be Ella or Gaby for short. Though there might be a few more babies called this cos of Gaby’s dolls house!

Miniatureschnauzers · 20/11/2025 23:03

@TiddlyToucan ooh also Polly Elizabeth and Ottilie Elizabeth are cute I think. Exciting!
